Bruce is like your grandad coming downstairs and breaking up the party at midnight.

He actually did spoil the whole thing - as per last year.

Then I mention how my father-in-law loves Strictly Come Dancing and sits poised with a pen and paper each week in front of his TV, avidly marking all the dancers.

If you have a limited sense of humour then of course you're not going to like Bruce. Why even debate the matter?!

I'm a Brucie fan, but he really needs to just run with it at the end - jokely throw his arms in the air, as if to say I give up and let them all have a final hug, kiss, dance or whatever they feel like doing.

Yes, for all his faults, what Brucie has, which the others don't, is true showbizzy WARMTH born of years in the business. He shouldn't be replaced - yet.

There was no warmth at the end was there.

There was no warmth at the end. Just nastiness.

Well done Sir Bruce at the end for keeping order and preventing another shambles of a stage scrum invasion, a Fabulous Final all the way tonight

So by reading one post of mine, most of which consists of quotes, you can tell I have no sense of humour? I'm not even going to dignify that with an answer.

Most noticeable, and annoying tonight, was Bruce constantly responding to the judges as though they were addressing him. They were talking to the contestants, you ****.
Not the first time by a long shot he has shouted at those trying to congratulate the winners; leaves a bad taste every time. Retire, please!

I watched the end of Strictly tonight and afterwards logged on to DS to see if I was right in what I saw?
And yes, it would appear that BF was actually shouting at the contestants to 'back off'.
Whether or not he was in the right, whether or not the director was shouting down his headset to get everyone away, we shall never know, but it didnt feel very friendly for a finale did it?

After 12 weeks of hard work and great entertainment, we all want to feel happy for the winning couple, whether they were our chosen ones or not. However, I felt that the moment got a bit lost when BF seemed to lose it.
Poor old Louis and Flavia worked hard, as did all the other contestants, only to lose their moment of glory to an angry presenter!

Yes, indeed. At the end of the show his 'Mr Nice Guy' mask slipped and we saw a glimpse of the real, arrogant, egotistical old fool.

An appalling show of bad manners and spitefulness on his part.

Reluctant though I am, I have to blame his age for once.

Please everyone!

Bruce refuses to wear an earpiece so the producers weren't yelling at him to "control" the situation..... That was entirely down to him.

They may have been telling Tess (who does have an earpiece) to let it run as she was keeping in the background while the events were unfolding.

Maybe if he did have an earpiece so he could be reined in if need be, and actually wore his glasses he'd be able to read the auto cue.

Unfortunately you have misjudged the situation Alan, Sir Bruce kept control as the presenter is meant to do, the rabble trying to invade the stage are at fault.

He had NO CONTROL which is why he was shouting.

And to call the other contestants (including your beloved Victoria & Lisa) a rabble is unbelievable.

Saw him at a charity golf match years ago and he was equally rude there.
Really cannot stand him.

The attempted stage invasion was led by a tall guy in a yellow shirt not Victoria or Lisa.

Sir Bruce was firm but fair and maintained order when it could just as easily have turned into an orgy of writhing bodies centre stage just like last year.

Yes, very fair to ruin the atmosphere, and to spoil the fun of a lot of viewers. And just because they didn't lead, doesn't mean your Chosen Two weren't part of the 'stage invasion'.
Kara and Artem were also presented with the trophy alone, and the show ended with a huddle of all contestants congratulating them. Very uplifting end to a series. So why was that not allowed this time round?

If they weren't allowed to be there, the floor manager would have stopped them or told Tess to move them back. It isn't like Louis' family ran on.

They were not running, pushing, shouting or doing anything to detract attention from Louis and Flavia. Only the egotistical old hack of a presenter. Hence his attitude.

Hmm.. The "tall guy in a yellow shirt" was James Jordan, Denise's partner in the final, or did you not watch the rest of the show?
He'd just walked across to them from a few feet away.

Sometimes you're really priceless, Terry.

Keep 'em coming!

I don't think he had James Jordan written on his face, he looked another to me DR.

Just watched the end in HD I can assure you 100% it was James Jordan.

All the other contestants and professionals understandably just wanted to congratulate and hug Louis & Flavia. The professionals in particular are a close knit bunch who support each other throughout the series. Winning this is an emotional event where you want and need support, yet Bruce was being thoroughly rude and curmudgeonly by trying to stick to a scrip that only he seemed to know.

The ending is a happy event in that the winner gets the chance to take it all in, everyone else gives their congratulations and congratulate each other on a great competition with all the work they've all put in in the last three months but no - one talentless old egomaniac has to rain on everyone's parade because it's not all about him.
