Little advice please?

I have an O2 payg phone and my mum has just got me a contract o2 phone (in her name due to credit issues) I want to transfer my number to the contract phone - best way to do this?

Can I do it, or does my mum need to since the contract phone is in her name?

Yes it can be done, just ring up O2 from your payg phone and ask for the PUK code. Then get your mum to ring from the contract phone and hand over the PUK code for transferring your number.

Completely incorrect. A PUK code is for when a SIM card has been blocked by entering an incorrect PIN code.

A PAC (porting authorisation code) is required when transferring a number between networks. If the number transfer is on the same network, this can be done without a PAC, although some networks, from what I understand, will not allow the transfer of numbers internally without porting out to another network and then back in, but this may have changed.

Best thing to do would be to ask O2 via online chat. They can be reached at www.o2.co.uk/contactus

I stand corrected.
