I'm 28 and have heard of whitesnake. A bit patronising maybe?

I'm 51 so have heard of all of them except 'an astronaut'. I still think it's true that James is the most famous person from Saltburn right now.

Deep Purple are well known, but not necessarily the singer, most people on the street couldn't name him, even if they know Deep Purple or White Snake!

Tony Mowbray... now I'm a Hibs fan, so know him well, but he isn't hugely known in football terms. There's plenty of managers that have managed in EPL for a few years without anyone really noticing them, I feel he is one of them.

Paul Rogers had a one hit wonder, then just toured with Queen...

"An astronaut," which you can't even name!

Now, I'm not saying James is very famous, because he isn't, but It's not like It's a massive insult to the other people you've listed.

P.s I'm 23, I do take notice of a lot of old music, but the majority of X-Factor fans won't, so the people you've listed will be unknown to most of the fans.

I didn't know any of those that OP mentioned. But I guess at the moment, James is getting more press than these and lots of attention, so he most probably is the most famous person from Saltburn! Whether he remains that, is another thing altogether, but at the mo, he most probably can wear that crown, seeing as many people don't really know who the others are.

I'm not old enough to remember them, but I've always loved 80s rock, so I know them. Whitesnake were an awesome band - David Coverdale is a great singer, and combine that with John Sykes, Steve Vai and Adrian Vandenberg on guitar, and you have one mean rock band.

I thought the OP said David Copperfield. (Must read slower).
