Yes your right it is absolutely pointless to save someone in blatant 4th place for just another week for the sake of them probably only getting to perform only one dance in the final before being voted off.

The main site has also updated with the time for next weeks show with it saying:

Next on
SERIES 10
Week 11
The five couples kick, spin and chasse for one of only three places in the grand final.

I wish it was a 3 couple final but it is definitely 4.... Crazy, I know!

The main site would have been immediately updated after the results show. It would be a lot easier to back track on an announcement made on ITT as opposed to all the written sources quoting a double elimination. Plus the final has obviously been scheduled well in advance with the intention of three couples. I believe the ITT announcement was based on a 'late night clever idea' that someone had and they now have woken up and have realised its not comprehendable.

Well it was in the paper earlier that day before ITT even announced it so it wasn't too much spur of the moment.... I really think it is true. I would be VERY surprised if they changed their minds now.

Lisa has just tweeted:

"Ok guys I can now tell you about our dances we are doing a Salsa and an American Smooth!! Double Dance ahhhh! But it's looking good!!!"

The fact that the website hasn't been updated would make me think that it wasn't a planned option, but a 'bright idea' that sounded good at the time.

It is a good idea as an option, if they have 5 fit contestants for the semi-final and they can then switch to it, but it would need to have been well thought out beforehand.

They did switch at short notice in Series 6 to allow Tom though to the final, but that was switching back to the main option of having 3 finalists.

At least they have another week to sort it out, but it is probably screwing with the pro's plans for their sequence of dances.
It may help James if there is one less dance to do so he can avoid the ones he doesn't like.
Flavia on the other hand is maybe less happy as she may have been saving good dances for the final.

3 lifts in the AS and you can do lifts in the Salsa too. Could be interesting?

Robin must be training with more dumb bells and considering wearing a lower back guard as a precaution as we speak.

Doesn't have to be the male partner who does the lifting, does it?

No indeed. Lisa could lift Robin instead. Either that or they could both try to lift each other and the judges would have scored them highly for innovation in levitation.

But if the aquarium burst - it would be so worth filling it.

Dani & Vincent - Argentine Tango/Paso Doble or Rumba
Denise & James - Argentine Tango or Tango/Rumba or Samba
Kimberley & Pasha - American Smooth, Argentine Tango or Waltz/Charleston or Rumba
Lisa & Robin - American Smooth/Salsa
Louis & Flavia - Foxtrot/Jive

Is Argentine Tango definitely classed as ballroom for SCD as Matt DA danced Waltz and AT in his year so couldn't Dani do the same this year? Is it now a ballroom dance?

The setup was different then as the argentine tango was only done in the semi-finals, and hence wasn't really classed as either - the celebs did their last unlearned dance (or a new version of a dance of their choice) plus the AT. Ever since it's been "demoted" from that it's been classed as a ballroom dance.

From that list, I think Dani & Vincent have the most difficult dances. Denise should be fine with Tango & Rumba, same for Kim with an AS as she's never really struggled in ballroom & Charleston or rumba should play to her strengths. Lisa will just do same old, same old for the salsa and a FUN FUN FUN AS, & Louis's ballroom has been pretty solid so unlikely to have problems there, although I'm not so sure about his jive. Dani though - I can't see her bringing the fiercesness & attitude needed for a paso or an AT, even though I'm sure Vincent will come up with a great routine. She's never really shown the lines & extension needed for a great rumba either. She & Vincent have always been at their strongest in dances like the jive or quickstep where they can be bright and sparky and cute. That's not going to work with these dances.

Ok thanks, I had never paid any attention to what it was classed as since series 5 so wasn't sure

My thoughts:
Kimberley has got a good selection of dances which should all suit her. So should be good whichever 2 they are doing - but surely the Waltz is the one they will opt not to do. I would really love to see her doing a Rumba and AS

Louis's jive has good potential especially given his progression in the last couple of weeks. Hoping for some nice high kicks and fast, sharp flicks.

Lisa's poor technique will be highlighted in both of her dances - i can't imagine the armography in the salsa or the gliding rise and fall of the foxtrot (assuming they are doing a foxtrot AS) being very good. No doubt they'll ham up the side-by-side pointing and simple motions in order for their salsa get the 'entertaining' vote

Denise's AT or Tango would be pretty strong - she is usually good at the dances requiring her to be sharp and precise. Neither the Rumba or Samba will be fantastic for her given her poor hip action - Rumba would surely be lesser of two evils.

Unconvinced as to whether or not Dani will have the firey passion for AT, Paso or Rumba but hoping she pulls it out the bag! Surely having Vincent as an AT teacher will help massively. I personally would rather she had another 'fun' one left (like jive/charleston/qs)
