I replaced the HDD in my Foxsat with a 1TB drive and it's now working perfectly. The plan though was to put the original drive in a caddy and watch what's on it via this.
However, try as I might, I cannot get the Foxsat to recognise the caddy. I've tried using a SATA to USB adaptor as well, to no avail. I've also tried plugging both into my PC with no result.
Is it possible the HDD is fried and what might I have done to cause that?
So, two questions - should te Foxsat reconise the caddy even with no drive in it? I want to establish that it is the drive that's the problem and not the caddy.
Secondly, if it is the drive, would it nevertheless be possible to extract the contents and put them on a new drive/stick, whatever? My partner will kill me otherwise - the original drive was full with mostly stuff she would have watched.
I think you can pay someone to do this kind of thing but there's a (low!) limit to what I'd be prepared to pay.
Alternatively, is this something I could do myself, and if so, how would I go about doing it, since I can't seem to access the drive even using a USB to SATA cable hooked up to my PC.
Help!!
