So I take it that we all agree with my post above?

Oh I see! Well I'm still glad they delayed it otherwise we wouldn't have gotten that adult contemporary masterpiece Stop The Clocks and I mean that.

"it" is the voice, but the voice is partly the personality behind it. If you haven't the personality it shows in the voice, so even if its good technically it's unconvincing

that's how i feel when i hear Leona sing

Why is she even releasing Lovebirds as a single? It won't sell the album for her.
And why are her label unwilling to release Glassheart?

Exactly - technically she's very good, but I'm not interested in hearing it. Mariah has a story, opinions, songwriting talent....

You should take a listen to her on her 02 DVD her voice did have real personalty behind it, she was fantastic live. But many of us think they over produce her voice, she's at her best with little or no production.

She comes over a lot better on TV than she used to but she does need to relax a lot more, her written interviews are much better.

Well Leona did say she could have ended up like Amy Winehouse

Its probably a natural process. Most singers voices decline over time, Xtina, Mariah , Whitney etc

Alltough her lower range has always been suspect.

I still think she's amazing. Can sing any of the current crop of UK artists into the ground.

it's not like she's really sung a LOT though. Damn.
We hardly see her. And she was classically trained too.

I've thought her voice poor of late too. Why doesn't she pay for some voice coaching as she's clearly rusty? Whatever she once had just doesn't seem to be there any more.

She was really bad yesterday - admittedly Im not a follower of her career. But she used to have a decent voice.

She has been managed awfully by Syco. Back in 2008 she was one of the hottest things in music, Bleeding Love had topped the charts around the world, she had performed at the Closing Ceremony of the Olympics to one of the TV largest audiences ever...since then it has been nothing but dire management and missed opportunities.

People will point to the fact that she is shy/dull and therefore isn't suitable for chat shows, but Michael Jackson never did interviews in the 80s due to shyness, and his label worked around that with good marketing.

Syco just lazily think that putting out a mediocre song and doing an XFactor appearance will magically sell records, it is a very dated approach and will end up ruining her career.

I just watched the Lottery gig. I don't know what happened. It's not car crash mind. I really don't get it.

Not entirely. She's awesome though. I'm not the biggest fan of Florence, but she can hold her own against her, as can Alexandra too. And those two aren't trained singers.

She did sound quite weak in some parts, hopefully just a one off

I honestly think she's had enough. I think she would happily retire from the music business & stay looking after her horses tomorrow if she could. I know she has a large fanbase but after four years & endless promotion, she should be on a level of success similar to Adele's. She has the talent but her management are atrocious. I still think delaying her Glassheart album was a big mistake.

(I wrote something similar to this on another forum so apologies!)

Adele is far superior live. Emeli Sande was way better on Saturday night x factor than Leona on the lottery, or any of her recent performances.

She does seem to have lost it recently.

four years of endless promotion? Other than her UK tour she's had most of the last three years off. A lot of her vocal problems are her own fault for flying long haul. It doesn't do anyone any good, the air is crap, the time zones kill you and the food crap.

She does it to rake in the money from personal appearances, but she should be mindful that if she ends up with a croaky voice after flying it's her own fault. Leona's always have vocal problems are doing a lot of flying, she should know better by now.

I do think she's lost interest and to be honest so has most of her fan base, I never thought I'd say that but I'm bored with the new album and the way they've gone about this whole era. It's just rubbish.

I wanna know why was she performing on BBC1 this weekend and not The X Factor final.....??
You would think they would welcome back "The Voice" aka. Leona back on the show to promote the new single "Lovebird" and the album!?...
I heard her on BBC1 this weekend & thought she sounded very poor .. such a shame because her voice is amazing, sadly her songs are sounding dated in todays market.

She was ill with tonsillitis and said in a video blog a couple weeks ago that her voice is still messed up, but she is getting better now. If you compare the first Lovebird performance to the one she did today in Spain you can hear the improvement, plus the more she performs the song the better she gets at it.

Lovebird - Daybreak

Lovebird - La Voz (The Voice Spain)

And hear she is singing Happy with the contestants on the show, they are terrible but she is great.

Happy - La Voz

Daves right, I was worried her voice had got alot worse, but alot of it was down to the illness as she was good at her performances in Spain yesterday/today(timezone differences)
