This time last year, most people were calling Tulisa a great judge and a great addition to the panel. She was constantly praised for her mentoring skills. I even remember when journalist calling her the new Cheryl Cole.

However, this year, not a lot of people seem to care about Tulisa. The spotlight has been on the other judges. Tulisa's popularity has really waned, her performance the other week didn't help the sales of her album and she's been ridiculed quite a lot.

Where did it all go wrong?

Some asshole ex leaked a sex tape and the great British public decided to use that as an excuse to ridicule the poor girl in everything she down.

As far as her album sales go she needs to fire her management. She released 3 of the worst songs on it as singles. After Young she should have continued to release more dance singles or if she had to go 'urban' release Visa.

The record label chose the singles, not the artist's management.

Do they? Never knew that. She needs to try and change label or something then because choosing 'Live it Up' was just criminal.

i just posted this in another thread because i just found it, but i also had to laugh that she's actually said in an interview with dan wooton that she was putting on a front last year with her personality and "playing the game" in order to make people like her. i had to laugh...because all she ever bangs on about is how everyone other than her is so fake...

She couldn't hide behind the "aggressive African American singer" or the "typical rude and arrogant black girl" strip away that and you have a devious and woefully inept judge&mentor and that what she showed this year.
Judge and mentor wise, she's always been horrible.

No one cares about the sextape. She's of age and could do whatever she wants provided it's legal.. She got a boatload of sympathy for that, and that was one she was willing to milk for as long as possible.

I don't think it's helped that she looks miserable as sin the whole show. I liked her last year, but this year I find myself thinking - you have one of the best jobs on UK TV - smile FFS!

Reality TV in the uk seem to enjoy casting black females as villainous.. Tuloosa was able to benefit from that because she was able to play the "meek white woman".. and brnifit from it.. hence all the foolish threads about Kelly bullying her.. Her popularity was artificial at best. take away the villainous black woman, and everyone sees tuloosa's shortcomings..

Tulisa never has remotely come across as a 'meek white woman'??! far from it and never was of the impression other people saw her like that. Dont think it makes a bit of difference who the other judge is to whether she is popular or not, she was reasonable last year as a mentor but nothing that amazing she was lucky she had the winning act which made her look good. Her popularity wasnt even close to that of Cheryl or Dannii. Im not a fan of Tweedy but Tulisa is like Cheryl - lite

I think the misha b incident was the beginning of tulisa's decline, followed by the sex tape, and diabolical live solo performances, constantly talking about her "urban roots" and ott Maloney bashing have sealed her fate, she will probably end up on celeb big bro next yr

Ridicule her for the fact that as bad as her singing is her 'boudoir techniques' are lamentable. She makes Paris Hilton's effort look like Meryl Streep.

She's had a face like a slapped arse mosta this series, it puts ppl off imo.

Where did it go right?

1. she is not a very good singer
2. she has treated CM like rubbish.

For me, after last years win she became so self obsessed, rather than thank her lucky stars she had the job she became arrogant to think she could ever live with the sucesses of her fellow judges. Her scant back hits were nothing compared to Louis and Westlife, Gary and Take That and Nicole with the Pussy Cat Dolls.

She was smug, completely up her own backside and totally unlikeable in my opinion. If she had revelled in the win, admired her fellow judges and not tell them what to do and how to do it after a few months of being a judge, she just might have be more liked.

I do feel sorry for her, she has little dress sense, looks dreadful against Nicole and even when she praises the contestants, you know what she is going to say before she says it.

All in all she should go away, learn her craft, get some musical credibility and be humble for once in her very seedy life.

I don't think Tulisa can handle the fact Nicole is pretty much better at everything (in the X Factor world anyway) than her.

It's interesting that it could be argued that the blowjob tape helped 'Young' on its way to being a massive hit, but in the end I think it helped Tulisa on the way to her downfall.

Where did it all go wrong is quite a bizarre question to ask in relation to a very wealthy young woman who is set for life at the age of 24, is she less popular now, maybe, however she probably couldn't care less, as for people feeling sorry for her, no-one forced her to perform a sex act on camera, she knew she was being filmed. She's just another one of those pop clone artists that sings unmemorable generic music, she has every song written for her, easiest job in the world, she can't even play any instruments, what the hell happened to the music industry, you used to need to have musical talent, know all you need is a pretty face and Simon Cowell's company behind you...........

She writes her own music, can play instruments...only has become 'pop' in the last year.
