Similar to marcus collins in that his style is not very current and would not sell.

He would also require too much media training so I don't see cowell bothering

Wasn't it said Cowell wants to sign both James and Jahmene?

But I agree, he'd flop.

This! You cannot compare the 2 they are nothing alike. I for one will most definately be buying Jahmenes album, as for Marcus i wouldn't have played it if it was downloaded for free.

i think Jahmene will have a huge career and even crack the states. Hes like a male Leona Lewis! He is the best male singer to ever step on that stage, range wise. and hes got to win!

Soul! Remember that before all this modern cr*p rap came along? Not everyone is 15. Susan Boyle sells millions and it's not 15year olds buying her music.

Thankyou.....there's a few gospel music lovers out there too, who will buy his album for sure, if he decides to go down that route also!!!

Susan Boyle was already an international superstar before she released her album because of her BGT audition. Jahmene has not had that moment so that comparison is invalid even before you take into account that Jahmene and Susan Boyle have absolutely nothing in common.

Record labels are interested in what well sell and no vaguely ageist remarks on your part will change that.

But the OP states that he won't have a contract if he doesn't win....of course he will....he's probably been made offers as his weeks on TXF has led to the final...if they have offered Chris deals already (and he's not as marketable) are they surely going to leave Jahmene out....I THINK NOT!!!

Dream on....he's going places (in a recording studio for starters)!!!!

Never heard such rubbish. He can easily get signed and become very current. Instead of sounding the same as most artists in the charts today he could take influences from Ce Lo green and Bruno Mars with a Motown vibe and come up with something totally original. We def need some originality in the music industry today. Sick of everything sounding the same all the time.

he'll have a contract, but he's one of those you feel has to win in order to have any success, even the standard short term sort.

Jahmene is a soul singer.

I saw Curtis Mayfield sing Move on Up , live, back when it was actually in the charts, he adlibbed a lot like Jahmene, it was a really good performance, the problem is he isnt what mainstream music is these days.

Autotuned and electronically removed of every nuance, vocals that are not tone adjusted to a single note simply dont sound right to a lot of people who have never really listened to anything outside the pop genre.

He wont sell singles, not in numbers, but like Rebecca, Jahmene could shift albums in big numbers, and I think he would sell more in the US than he does here.

Indeed, he could become a huge star just recording gospel stuff for the US market if he wanted to go that route.

He is nowhere near as good, but he really reminds me of Jackie Wilson in term sof singing style.

Nonsense from the OP. Jahmene will do really well imo especially in the album market.

The general public are very fickle and easily influenced , and Simon Cowell knows this. Impressionable young tweenies are very influenced by teen stars like One direction, even though they have no talent. It's all about good publicity and marketing.

Cowell will try and convince the public ( like emporers new clothes) that they are next best and the public lap it up every time

I reckon he WILL get a contract, but not be a big success.

Hes a competent singer but not amazing, he really is being buttered up something rotten on the show.

James arthur is more of an all rounder.
