Why is it so hard to root for someone?

This year as opposed to last year i have the feeling there is no one left to root for. No one engages for me personally and i'm actually disliking a lot of the couples.
Dani&Vincent: The walking clichee. They seem like the product of a producers bet (and alcohol) how many offensive clichees you can put into one couple.
Kimberly: Bland (but Pashas hair has happend)
Lisa: She doesn't progress (but i think the wanking over lisa comments and scores is more annoying than Lisa)
Denise: I like her fine but Banter the 5thousand is irritating. We are struggling is also a boringstoryline. I know she is feared to be seen as a ringer but the constant messing mentioning is vexatious. Also how James deserves his ringer is beyond my understanding (but at least she delievers good performances)
Nicky: Progression, but not enough. Same as Lisa.
Louis&Flavia: Couple that irritats the most. He would have been if he were a woman about some of his comments to the judges. More style than substance. Many faults and the shoving down my throat makes me hate this pair. Not to mention how he is mentioned to have no performance experience. He's a gymnast he has body awareness.

I have 2 big problems with this series:
1. The canidates not likeable enough and with bothersome traits and don't produce good enough dances
2 Fanwars where judges comments and scores are constructed for own agenda and over/undermarked is thrown around

I hope next series will be better.

I have no clue what 'ennerving'' means.

What's with this "ennerving" and "ennerves" - there is no such word or verb in English, are you writing as someone whose first language is not English as the whole post is clumsily put together?

Hey, don't worry.

There is a word - unnerving. But that means something that makes you nervous or anxious or slightly on edge.

Your English is very good, Viel besser als mein Deutsch!

And I agree with your remarks.

Nothing wrong with unnerve

Quote:
“Definition of unnerve
verb
[with object]
make (someone) lose courage or confidence:
(as adjective unnerving)
an unnerving experience
”

OP perhaps needs a dose of Diazepam.

But the standard of English in the post is better than many of the posts in this forum.

In particular, I am shocked at the number of posts that misuse "me" "myself" for "I" and use "her" and herself" for "she". Or indeed vice-versa.

And then there is "should of" instead of "should have" ..

As for lower case "i" .... that's unnerving.

Isn't English still taught in English schools?.

Think the OP meant annoying rather than ennerving - makes sense that way too.

Well you can't please everyone! Last year after Russell and Flavia left I didn't care much for any of the celebs that were left, although I did grow to like Chelsee but not enough to pick up the phone and vote.

I've enjoyed this series much more than last years, although I've had issues with some of the producer's decisions and judge's bias.

I'm now rooting for two couples primarily Flavia and Louis and then Dani and Vincent.

I think this years cast of celebs is better than last years which is why I've not found it difficult to warm to some of them.

I don't necessarily think they've all been showcased in the best way but I blame that more on producers interference and decisions than on the pros/celebs. For instance Colin Salmon is a good celeb and Kristina is a good pro but because of the massive height difference they shouldn't have been paired together.

The biggest annoyance for me is the overmarking and bias towards Lisa - I've got nothing against her personally but it's getting ridiculous now.

Everybody should have understood exactly what you said from the context. I am sure they did.

Your written English is far better than many native-speakers. And I think there are a lot of people this year who haven't yet found their wow contestant. I know I'm one.

Oh and upper case "E" in "English" please.

Do you live in the UK or are you following the series form Germany? And if the latter how? Does iPlayer work in Germany?

^^^This.

Also I think a Vincent v Flavia final would be brilliant as I really adore them both. Secretly I hope Vincenzo wins as Dani's 'journey' has been further but I love watching Louis.

Did he change his name to "Vincent" or this his stage name? His son is "Luca" rather than "Luke".

You write English better than most people on Digital Spy and I warrant your English is far better than our German.

I am always hugely envious of anyone who has ability with languages and wish I had made much more effort at school.

I agree the Vincent and Flavia showdown will make the final even more thrilling, but as much as I love team smurf it's team Flouia for me

Vincenzo is probably his real name as he is Italian not British-Italian.

EDIT

His real current name is indeed Vincenzo not Vincent. He hasn't changed his name to Vincent which is his stage name.

Vincent Simone Limited

Quote:
“Vincent Simone Limited was set up on 08 Mar 2011 in Surrey. Their current status is active, and their founding director, Vincenzo Simone, has been the director of 2 other companies. The company has no known group companies.”

Fans note that the address is that of his accountant

You know if I'm honest I would be pretty happy if Louis won too. I've loved watching his journey into becoming an entertainer. As long as those two are left at the end it will be a good night for me.

Thanks Henry for that.....he's my secret Strictly crush. He's just soooo cute and that voice could charm me right into his arms!
