It makes the final a bit predictable, but it could be good for ratings, maybe they wil introduce it next year.

The US show only did it out of desperation - and it's obvious what the effect is - it seems to lock in the top acts and the bottom acts to those positions with no change.

In the USA phone voting is free, but it isn't in the UK. If we knew after 3 weeks, as they do in the USA, that the Top 2 never changes and those down at the bottom are always down there, well, what's the point of voting for them? It would decrease the revenue of the show.

It will drastically changing voting behaviour, especially when an act that finishes unusually low in a week stays low the next. We wouldn't have comeback stories like an Alexandra-JLS final (they were in the middle of the pack at the beginning).

I'm guessing because it keeps things more suprising/interesting.

Does anyone know when the weeklyvoting results are released? Will we know them tonight?

Bookies wouldn't be happy either! Would completely change XF betting patterns.
