I won a Kenwood Chef Major... woohoo go me! It has also got the mincer/sausage maker attachment and ice cream maker attachment with it. I have ordered the makings for making some sausages so am looking forward to doing that.

Can anyone recommend any of the other attachments? My mum has said she will buy me some for Christmas but I don't know what is worth it.

I have things like a blender and food processor already (only cheap ones), but am tempted to get the blender jug and food processor attachments so I can get rid of the other bits and just have the one unit. Would save space in the kitchen and I could make a few quid on them if I take them to a car boot sale once the car boot season starts again.

That's great. I have a Kenwood with the sausage and ice cream attachments and they are fab. Making your own sausage couldn't be easier- I use this forum which is full of recipes http://forum.sausagemaking.org/

I also order my skins from here http://www.sausagemaking.org/

Good luck- you will love it

Is the ice cream attachment good? We have a crappy little baileys ice cream maker, but it always came out with ice crystals in it.

It's fantastic, so easy to use and makes beautiful ice cream. I can guarantee one you start using your attachments, you will never buy ice cream or sausage again

hmmmm, ice cream?... sounds like a gadget.

To OP: There's a pasta attachment that I yearned for for ages, then got, used once, and put to the back of the drawer. Too fiddly by half.

I am not a big pasta fan so wouldn't buy that one plus it is very pricey for the major! I eat pasta probably 2-3 times a year so just buy fresh pasta from the supermarket when needed.

Good good. Might have a play with it this week and then make some ice cream for over Christmas.

Had me thinking for a second... sausage flavoured ice-cream

Re. the ice-cream maker, I guess you freeze the bowl, then mix (custard???)/whipped cream into the bowl with flavourings (okay, not sausage) and set in the freezer?, as simple as that?

It's a doddle, the second recipe I have put here is a bit more time consuming, but worth it. The 2 vanilla recipes I do most are here-

I've had my Kenwood since my children were small - and my eldest is 44!

I have the meat mincer and liquidiser jug. I would like the ice-cream maker and slicer/shredder attachment. I did buy the cream maker but I've never used it. Because my machine is so old, I would have to buy any attachments from Ebay.

Thanks to this link Mrs CB and I made a kilo of very acceptable "Everyday" sausagemeat at the weekend. We made and fried off a couple of patties for tea and then converted the rest into sausage rolls, sausage plait, skinless sausage which are all resting in the freezer ready for xmas.
