It's pretty harsh having to explain to young children that your services are no longer required
I heard Charlie Jones was in tears when the axe swung |

No it is not time for them to leave Walford. If you were Eastenders Executive producer couldn't you give Patsy, James, Maisie and Devon a chance and give a better storyline to Bianca and not have her shout. How can someone explain to Maisie and Devon that they are being axed? I know you hate Bianca but do Maisie and Devon have to suffer with leaving? No they don't

Well why should Tiffany and Morgan leave why can't they stay with Carol and why can't Liam stay with Carol and Bianca and Ricky can be killed off? Its not fair telling a child like Maisie and Devon they are being axed

Its a fact of life that nobody on the show is safe including child actors, personally I would like them to do something for the characters other then what they are currently offering which is crap lets be honest here the material they are giving Bianca and co is dreadful, where is the realism in any of it, a single mother out of prison not claiming benefits which in real life she would, every family struggles but constantly having this money problems at Christmas for this family is just bad writing, was presents last time and now a Christmas tree, it be nice to show her rising up out of her struggles they give her a hairdressing qualification but we have her haggling around for tips and arguing with Lola and insulting customers, I just think the characters deserve better storylines and if not then well maybe its time.

Why can't Bianca just meet a nice guy, get married and live happily in the square. I know that is an off the wall thing, as nobody lives happily in soaps, but it would be nice to see a solid family for a change.

It's very same old same old with the Jacksons. Carol is great but they hardly give her anything to do apart from babysit the children. Bianca is played by a good actress but is really grating as a character. None of the kids are good actors. I don't know if I'd want them axed but I don't really care about any except Carol.

I agree that it can be unfair telling a child actor that they're loosing their job but it has happened in the past. I remember reading that Casey Anne Rothery (Lucy Beale 1996-2004) was in such a state after the producers told her she was being replaced that her dad phoned the shows bosses to complain (although apparently she was only told the day before she would be leaving) and obviously Charlie Jones who has already been mentioned. But I'm sure both kids got over it and now understand why they were replaced or gotten rid off. I like Bianca so I wouldn't want her to leave the show but they do need to find something for her to do that doesn't involve money worries as that's been done to death with the character. |

I agree, it would have been better to see her taken on at the salon and making a real success as a hairdresser. Pitting her against Lola is just ridiculous and her screeching about tips shows that the character hasn't changed or grown at all. It also would give the writers another place to have a confessional. We see the ladies getting their nails done often and say they're getting their hair done, but we don't see it. Put a 'qualified hairdresser' in the salon and we have the opportunities for characters who don't usually interact, I appreciate that money will be tight, even with benefits, but perhaps this can be an opportunity for the jackson family to show they are glad to be back together without all of the hoopla of a retail christmas - i thought the cardboard tree was an excellent start. Beyond that, i don't know where else the writers can take the jacksons - a bullying storyline at school for liam? Bianca would wade in shouting the odds over that. Isn't Bianca also a qualified fashion designer? Is that something writers could explore - beyond a a stall of questionable taste on the market? |

My heart sank today when I read in the tv guide for 27th Dec ep : Will cash-strapped Bianca be tempted to sell Derek's dodgy gear to pay the bills?
![]() FFS not again! Can't they think of ANYTHING else for Bianca ? There was talk of her getting a job at Tanya's,so are we to presume this meant the 5 minutes she was on trial there, or will she be back permanently at some point (though obviously not before 27th Dec )?It's such lazy writing and we've seen it so many times. Seriously,do the scriptwriters have amnesia or do they just presume all the viewers have?

Arghh so Bianca might sell dodgy gear, there has been no character development its just the same thing all the time.
Bianca needs to learn people skills, she rude to people but expects them to help. |

Obviously it will be difficult, but you can't just keep actors just because if you axe them they'll get upset. If EE hadnt axed Charlie (original Ben) we'd have never had joshua as Ben. |

Like for example having Lola do a NVQ in hairdressing or beauty therapy like Whitney was doing with the childcare before it seems to have been dropped. |

I wouldn't want Liam and Tiffany to leave. If Liam goes it will be the end of the line for the Butcher name in Albert Square. He was born in the Queen Vic and it would be a shame to lose him now that he's getting older and has the potential for more storylines and character development. Like Abi, he seems to be perceptive, reasonable and has the impulse control his parents lack. Tiffany's still a child and could become an interesting character in the future. She's had a traumatic few years and it would be a shame for her to go before we've had the opportunity to see how her childhood has affected her as she gets older. Both characters have strong relationships with Carol and Janine (close for Liam, antagonistic for Tiffany) and I'd like to see those relationships endure and watch how they change as the characters age.
