The original is so much better but neither winners songs were awful (unlike last years).

I was just thinking that it was the best winners single I have heard. Go James!

I was hoping James Arthur would have written his own winner's song. I bet Lucy Spraggan would have done.

Cher was in the 2010 series so it would have been just 3 months after it was a hit for Shontelle.

I thought it was awful.

There was one part where I'm almost certain he lapsed and forgot the words.

For me:

Hallelujah >>> Cannonball > A Moment Like This >>>> Impossible > The Climb >>> That's My Goal > When You Believe >>>>>> Against All Odds

I actually love the first 4 and like the next 3 though shamefully :P

Probably not allowed to. It would all have to be ready very quickly too, so they can release it straight away.

The worst, both on the choice of song and the winner's performance of it. I don't mean that I dislike the original but it just doesn't seem right, considering that previous winners' songs have been more...happy.

All the winners singles have been terrible. The Climb was ok I suppose. I just dislike most because they ruin the originals.

It was the best fit for James I suspect. shame he's not releasing an original though? Now that would be a brilliant XF first

Oh how I would have loved him to cover Slash/Beth Hart's Mother Maria. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89su4EcpB20

Definitely the best ever, although I am even more excited for James to release his own material!
