I apologise on behalf of the Judges - (mainly Louis, Nicole & Tulisa)
---- To everyone who lives in a bedsit - most students and many people trying to make ends meet, working hard for a living - been there, done that without shame for many years.
----- To everyone who works in a supermarket and is proud of the work they do and have no chance to attain this ridiculous celebrity status - who are living "real" lives as Tulisa would say. ----- To everyone in Liverpool - where obviously it is a real disgrace to have to go back to. That's just a few, but they have infuriated me this last few weeks - so patronising and so out of touch with "Real" (Tulisa) lives. GG xxx |

Students in a bedsit is a bit different to just living there period. And most people in a bedsit want to get out or move somewhere better!

Then shock horror the poor little rich boy had to slum it at a comprehensive... but he did not like that as he was entitled so much more. So he told everyone in the school that he was better than them. they didn't like it so he skipped school... and then he ran away from home. |

I agree, it comes across insulting when they go on about not going back to supermarkets or call -centres....its not the worst thing in the world. But when he said Chris wouldnt be going back to Liverpool I think he meant Chris would be working in the industry and recording, you would usually be sticking around London for a while if that was the case; it did come out badly though.

I think the point they are making is not that there is something wrong with working at a supermarket. They are saying its wrong to let a spectacular talent or skill set go to waste by not pursuing a dream. You forget that they are talking directly and specifically to the contestant in front of them who is actively very much pursuing a different life. When they speak of supermarkets they are talking to Jahmene someone who has a great voice who wants to pursue a music career, not Jan at the checkout counter who is perfectly happy where she is. And even if Jan had a great voice, if a music career is something that she doesn't want, and she's content that's fine by them. They are speaking about those who specifically have other wants.
