From Metro

"Corrie bosses have decided to drop the axe on four more street regulars. In a shock storyline which mirrors the MRSA virus currently sweeping the nations hopsitals, newcomer Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) and Penny King (Pauline Flethcher) who failed to impress producers will catch the killer bug in April. In seperate plots Keith Duffy and Bill Ward who play Ciaran McCarthy and Charlie Stubbs repsectively have been told their contracts will not be renewed and will exit the show in October, a soap insider said "both have ran their course in the show it all ends dramatically for Charlie when Shelly finally stands up to him".
Elsewhere in the Street, Jim McDonald (Charlie Lawson) will return to the Street in the Spring when he is released from prison to find hapless wife Liz in bed with Jamie Baldwin (Rupert Hill)."

Where does this come from? Don't believe it for a second.

What, so Shelley will be with Charlie almost for another year? HMMMM, that leads me to believe this is dodgy.

I know, if the thing about Charlie staying till next october is true, then I'll be annoyed. HOWEVER, before the Shelley and Charlie storyline began all the papers said that it would last for several WEEKS, not Months! (so i dont believe it)

Dangermouse, I remember one the of last threads you started was a spoiler as well and when I searched for the threads you started the last time, many were about spoilers and I think only one ended up being true. I am not saying you are making them up, I'm just saying that the source doesn't seem very reliable.

I can believe it about Pauline and Bill (she hasn't really made much of an impression and, after this Shelley storyline, I don't think they can take the character of Charlie much further), but Antony and Keith are really popular with the public!

The MRSA thing sounds really far fetched too...

Cieran going makes complete sense and the Charlie storyline is bound to go on for another 12 months. If Corrie is doing this at their best they will be showing how the abuse builds up as the man slowly chips away at her confidence. Women stay with men like him for years. Corrie normally do these things well so I hope hes in it for a while yet until the point we are throwing things at the screen.

I agree. I can't see them axing those two characters. I've also read on teletext recently that Charles Lawson was going to make a guest appearance early next year but they didn't want him back permanently. We'll just have to wait and see.

The Jamie / Liz stuff sounds like it could happen - after all, they're both tarts!

Charlie will run out of steam once this storyline with Shelley climaxes - he'll have nowhere left to go

As for Ciaran and Penny - their departure is well overdue! Im actually surprised the pair of them have lasted as long - along with Patrick and Sonia, they're the most pointless characters ever!

Wow can't believe they are getting rid of Sean so soon after his arrival! He's a great character. I'm surprised they would let the Shelley and Charlie storyline go on for so long, it would get too tired by October. And as for Jamie and Liz, you're having a laugh right? What a load of codswallop!!

What a load of tripe!

With other sensational storylines plotted, I doubt they'd have a killer bug!
I read a recent IS interview with Keith Duffy and he said he'd signed a new contract!

I must admit at first I was a bit dubious about him, but he grew on me, he is a great character. He fits in brilliantly with the factory girls. I can not believe he failed to impress. I think this is a load of tosh.

I really can't believe Sean would be axed. As the title of the thread said, this is unconfirmed.

It's bullsh*t! Sean Tully is the best thing in the Street along with little "Chutney" and Bradly Walsh!

I cant' believe they'd get rid of Sean so soon! After Corrie and their "There will always be a gay presence on the Street!" Was that just a load of bullcrap they made up to make up for the fact that both their first ever gay characters were gone less than six months after their first much heralded gay storyline?

I don't believe this story until its confirmed. Penny King I can understand as she's really nothing special. Ciaran I actually like and Charlie will be in it for a year yet as you can't just do domestic abuse in six months if you want to do it properly.

Kelly BitchTree she should get that MRSA wotsit, get rid of her. She's not fit to even polish Suranne Jones's shoes, nevermind fell em.

If anything Sean should be developed more next year. If not he's just going to be a younger version of EastEnders Derek, who's just there to make the show look "cutting edge"
