I don't think cheryl will be sitting next to simon if she comes back. in the us version people like the banter between demi and simon, it was the only thing that kept the show interesting. the banter between demi and simon is something people already expect, in every interview demi gives, they always ask her about simon (one of the interviewers even talked about a possible sexual tension between them lmao). back in season 1 simon didn't sit next to cheryl either, he sat next to paula. anyway, I don't believe that cheryl will return, they say that every year lol. by now the judges are already chosen, since the official announcement of the whole panel will be on may 13

I know people keep saying this story keeps doing the rounds, but in all honesty I really don't remember any "Cheryl's returning to US XF" stories this time last year. It was all about Britney, wasn't it?

There was certainly plenty about her returning to the UK show but these were quickly denied by her, and there were no stories about the US one as far as I can remember. The first we knew she'd been asked about the US show last year was when she mentioned it in her book, wasn't it?

Very smug ---especially during their last season together in 2010. Although I think I would much prefer smug over the nauseating banter between Demi and Simon. I just don't get all the love for Demi --even though she displayed the only sign of life on that show last year. She is a great singer and songwriter, awful mentor.

I wouldn't mind Cheryl coming back but I doubt it will happen. Would depend on who really wanted her gone. I would say it was more a**hole Darnell and the other producers than Simon since Simon is said to have wanted Cheryl and Paula from the get-go.

yes, demi wasn't the best mentor but it was her first time, i think she learned a lot. and like simon said, they would be crazy not to have her back. the show became more appealing to the teens thanks to her (something simon really wanted), and even won awards like the people's choice awards. I don't know if this counts, but her image in the USA is better than ever and she has a hit single on the charts right now. and yet, we don't know how much mentoring the judges actually do...at least she really cares about her acts. So in my opinion she deserved to return. obviously she can't please everyone but I understand your side

I just don't see how a person that was so upset when she was fired, and that is suing them, would come back. but, anything could happen I guess...If they were bringing back someone who was axed I would love to see paula. I think it would be a cute dinamic: paula, simon and demi. when paula was fired she took the news well, said she and simon would remain friends, so I think if they offered the job back, she would say yes. but yeah, not gonna happen. they don't want people remembering of american idol on x factor
