Is there a type of woman who should be able to vote?!
If someone people consider uncool does well it is down to "granny" votes. If young men do well it is deluded teenage girls voting with their hormones. Not to mention the dreaded housewives! So what if these groups vote for someone are they not valid votes? In fact what type of female is allowed to vote and not be mocked?

Well its generally recognised that when it comes to the X factor women make up the overwhelming majority of voters - and some speculate there are probably more gay men that vote than straight ones.
I personally would rather the vote of a 'granny' who has lived a life and has experience of the world - than a 13 year old teenager. |

Good point. The reason the fairer sex get it in the neck though is that they tend to make up the larger and most avidly voting element of the audience. Same with any reality show. You only have to look at how female soloists tend to bomb out one after another, while the males remain - even those who can barely sing. I'd say the females determine who gets through to any Final, and then the male vote helps level it out. Obsessed females versus tight wad males, take your pick.
One noticeable thing about the newer auditions is how the cameras always show females in the audience, and how the moment any half tasty looking male walks on stage they are all for him, even if he can barely sing. It turned the X Factor into a Hot Or Not dating show, and is why, IMO, the auditions need to return to only having the judges there. |
