Oh Nellie Nellie Nellie you are being the misery guts. He's a sardonic character. He was very pleasant in his live interview this morning and he had fab praise for Jahmene his mate.

Honestly I think he's overwhelmed by it all. When you see where he came from and listen to him talking about his muscic it gives a better understanding of the guy. I read somewhere he's self conscious about his teeth and that could be why he puts his head down and does'nt give a big toothy smile like some others do.
I've never been a fan of his but fair do's he has come a long way and I wish him well.
I saw his interview this morning and watched him on Xtra Factor last night. He was thanking everyone and obviously has a lot of respect for Jahmane too.

There's something almost Haiku-like about this post. Are you a poet, per chance?

He's self conscious about his teeth. He said himself if he earns money he wants to get braces to straighten them then he'll smile more.

I'd much rather have a slightly quiet James than a cheesey constantly grinning like a moron winner. *coughs* not that I'm thinking of any contestant in particular. *coughs*

He comes across a little awkward and self conscious but I thought he seemed very thankful and humble with his win.

Not ignorant or up himself.

You probably just don't like James Arthur and are looking for reasons to moan.

I was pleased James won ( didn't really mind which of the two did ) ... but he does come across as a bit sullen

Maybe that's the 'image' he wants to present though ... all serious and full of angst

So cold. So miserable. Jahmene looked like the winner yesterday.

I think he is also self conscious about his teeth & is naturally not demonstrative person. That being said, I think we have had more smiles in the last few weeks

FGS Winners have to smile now according to pre set instructions from viewers. People are different or are some so restricted in their view they think only their way counts. I'm not a smiley person and prefer none smiley people but don't feel the need to criticise those that do.

How people still haven't managed to work out that Chris was voting for himself I'll also never know.

It doesn't take a psychologist to work out that James is shy and self-conscious. I would be doing the same thing if I was there. Again this is not a personality contest people, so stop trying to pick at James for winning. He deserved it way more than Orange monkey did.

Exactly! I thought James was lovely on the Xtra Factor last night, particularly when he said both he and Jahmene are winners. In fact watching the Xtra Factor over the last few weeks it was great seeing them become really good friends, not just fellow contestants in a competition.

From my own experience of having crooked teeth, I used to cover my mouth when I had to smile. Very self-conscious After getting braces and having near perfect teeth now, i still find myself hiding my teeth occasionally. Hard habit to break, even after 25 years!

James doesn't like his teeth. that's why he doesn't smile. It's been said before that's the reason he doesn't grin all the time. Jahmene maybe isn't as insecure about his looks.

Shy he may be but James doesn't do 'expressions'. He has always been wooden. He's like someone who has been botoxed

For the first couple of weeks I thought he seemed a little arrogant, but then I spotted the occasional shy smile and realised that he was just very very awkward and self concious. That's when I really started to like him, if the voting is anything to go by I was not alone.

I think he has a lovely nature, his friendship with Rylan was really sweet, even though they were so different they clearly had a lot of respect for each other.

Send back the psychology degree and ask for your money back. You were robbed.
