It's just so predictable and boring now. Every year someone really good gets voted out early so they can tell everyone to vote more so they can make more money. Every year they don't let really good acts though and let someone like Jedward or Rylan through instead. Every year there's tons and tons of sob stories.

I don't even watch it all anymore. I record it and fast forward to the singing and judges comments, which equates to about 10 mins of TV.

Even the judges comments bore me these days. Louis thinks everyones gonna be a superstar, Tulisa wants to get in touch with her Urban Roots and doesn't even know who Aretha Franklin is. Nicole sits there inventing new words and Gary sits there with his one facial expression repeating, un-charismatically, "That was sensational"' "That was amazing!", like a wooden puppet.

They really need to make some big changes to get the ratings up. Swapping Juges isn't enough.

Maybe they should rest the show a year and come back with a whole new format. A fresh start.

Not to have a go at T cuz most on here are much better at it than me but I found the bit in bold particularly disturbing. T has lost it this year and probably confirmed that she was a poor choice in the first place.

LMAO
OK then, but they really should take a hint now that it's time to leave it for now.

Like Dannii said a good producer knows when it's finished, or maybe let it rest for a while

To be honest i was being a bit naughty.

Live music is my big thing and from what i have seen on the news i would not walk to the bottom of my road to see any x-factor acts.

Now Iron Maiden,Deep Purple,Gary Numan ,Thin Lizzy, ect ect i will travel miles to see and indeed have done.

you've got great taste, what beats a live show . For me it doesn't have to be rock, but MUSIC that grabs you. Not manufactured artist or joke acts

Don't blame the public - the judges get rid of a lot of talent before the end of bootcamp! Some with real potential are even dismissed at the auditions. And even worse - there are some really good singers who don't even get to sing before the 'experts' as the show's producers would rather have a load of 'laugh' acts than genuine singers.

This is why people have to get it out of their heads that this is a singing competition because it isn't. Its Saturday night fluffy entertainment - which until recently - did the job of entertaining. Now its just plain cruel (to both contestants and to the public watching).

So how about coughing up a couple of millions and create a eurovision-like show but with 'real' music ?
Wouldn't that be something

People only watch it now with their families to say "What a joke this program is" and they seem to not realise there are dozens other programs on at the same time, Simon Cowell loves it when you watch his programmes btw.

I have no problem with the audition stages (although I must admit without Simon even that has gone off the boil quite a bit). I like the joke acts, the deluded fools the the XF producers have put forward for our entertainment. Its even fun to watch bootcamp for a while - to watch the predictable dumping of the fairly talented. Judges houses though ... and finals are the time to do something else. After the auditions (and some of) bootcamp - the only time worth tuning is for the results on a Sunday night ... when Dermot delivers his line 'so ... in no particular order' ....'

You see I don't watch it for the singing ... because come the finals - you're only left with dross.

But if you look at the ratings for example.
Ppl watch when a really good singer comes on like Matt Cardle. He completely dominated the show that year and ppl were hooked to see the talent that were that year.

The more joke acts that come on, the more viewers you lose.

maybe key is to just enjoy it as it is... fluffy saturday night entertainment which can bring in some easy money if you look closely and see the plot unraveling before your very eyes... off to ladbrokes and paddypower to collect my winnings...

Agreed with OP, i think a lot of people including myself are tired of all the old drivel, the manipulation is not new, the novelty acts are not new, the level of real talent is mostly mediocre at best, the judges are so predictable you can almost write their script for them. Everyone wonders week 1 who is going to painted the as the bad egg and who will be the joke act, its the same crap year on year. There is no getting away from it, Rylan was the joke act, Chris was the bad egg, the finalists were mediocre at best. Same ole, same ole....every year without fail
