Second favourite after series 7 (2010) now. Loads of stuff has happened this year and it's been a massive improvement on the last.

Carolynne VS Rylan's Deadlock drama. Amazing bit of TV.

Ella VS James bottom two...most shocking result ever.

Baloney's unexplainable support and all the funny names/stories about him.

Rylan's banter with Gary.

Louis losing the plot more than ever. 'FERNANDO...WHERE'S FERNANDO?!'.

Good set of finalists. Best winner ever.

Overall a really good year. Sure it needs some changes going forward so that ratings improve, but I don't think it's been a disaster. There's been loads of highlights this year. Gonna miss it

I'm going to miss it too. This year was the best. People are flaming it due to it being such an old series. And past year experiences with 'talent' (or where there was none). This year only had less viewing figures than the years before due to the inadequacy of previous years. For example if you felt the previous series was lacklustre, you'll probably still watch that series but be less inclined to view the next one. And if the next series is amazing, you won't know but you'll still have this perception that the show is crap. That's what the majority of X Factor haters do in my opinion.

Anyways why do people watch Strictly compared to this? It hasn't got the gossip, the great tunes, dancing not really relevant compared to songs and most of all it's the biggest bore fest. I love dancing but not watching other people doing it.

Also the highlight of this incredible season was the Week 7 result not the fact that Ella was voted off in itself. But the bit before when Dermot announces who made it through to next week and the discovery that Ella and James were in the Bottom 2. The actual moment when that happened was a shock.

This year has to be the best series yet by miles. Was so unpredictable and different acts in the bottom 2 each week. Final was intense too. And the voting figures were insane. No other act had a shout and even the early favourite Ella was no where near the top 2 even james wasn't. He won it in the last 2 weeks. Incredible.

Couldn't disagree with you lot more! A few good singers but very average X-Factor year IMO.

The DS threads have helped a bit!

I've enjoyed it too, I think it has been better than last year. Looking forward now to American Idol, then The Voice, so any withdrawal symptoms will be short-lived.

That's funny, because this is my least favourite series, followed by series 7. Series 7 tops this year because it had Wagner, but he was the only thing I enjoyed about that year.

This year seemed to be too much about the drama and I lost interest pretty early on. I didn't really get behind anyone and I couldn't give two hoots about any of them who made the final. I never got James at all, so don't rank him as a particularly good winner.

All in all, it felt like a chore to watch this series and the finale was such an anti-climax.

See that's why I liked both those series, they were high on drama and entertainment (which is what the X Factor is primarily about, people often forget this - entertainment show first, 'talent' show second), whilst having a good bunch of contestants all the same.

American here and this has been the best series of singing competition show that I've ever watched. The final 2 was amazing and the winner so deserved. I have never looked so forward to what a winner of a show will do what their career. Quite frankly I'm looking forward to following many of the acts. While Chris was the only bad point for me. Seeing the demise of the person I disliked added an another arc that made this series so awesome.

It was a great series, Nicole was a revelation, Rylan good as the novelty act, Chris as the villain and actually quite a bit of real talent in UJ, James, Ella and Jahmene.

Only major negative for me was Tulisa, I actually thought she was pretty good last year for a first year judge but she was dull dull dull this year, totally outshone by Nicole.

It was definitely an interesting year. A lot better than last year. Up there with 2010 and 2008.

This series for me has been one of the best.

The talent has been very high.

All the finalists have been memorbale.

I think the final was one of the best ever and the show has created profiles for many talented artists.

It has created fantastic TV moments : Rylan vs Caroline Deadlock, Ella/James Bottom Two and I think Ncole is the besr judge ever to be on the panel.

Viewing figures have been down but it has ended on a high with James and Jahemene being the top 2 and I think they will both have fantastic careers.

Next Year ; I would love Louis,Simon,Nicole and Sharon Osbourne.

I enjoyed it a lot. Nicole was a revelation, James was amazing every week, Rylan was hilarious and the other contestants all added a little something to the overall proceedings.

In terms of drama, it's been a fairly exciting year. It's just a total shame that the finalists were so poor collectively in the talent department. I'm the type of person who would rather see the better singers go through every week, so this series hasn't been great for me..

I've only watched the UK X-Factor since 2010, but I've watch most all the American Idol seasons and every US Voice, and US X-Factor seasons. I really enjoyed last season of UK as well. I was rooting for Little Mix, but unlike James I felt their win was very much written in the cards and it was clear they had the momentum. Although know we know that James won it by a landslide and was never in danger after his bottom 2 escape, it didn't feel that way as it was happening. This season of the US Voice is good in terms of mostly good vocals from the contestants, but I feel like it has become stale and the contestants are playing it safe. The judges except for Blake are very annoying. I enjoyed season 7 of Idol, however I was rooting for the other Idol. The person I root for never wins on Idol,so I really have never had a completely satisfactory season like I've had w/ the x-factor uk 2 seasons in row (I didn't watch Kelly's season). I also have not liked our Voice winners either.

I've really enjoyed this series too, though I wish there had been a bit more buzz about it in the media and better ratings. My favourite year was 2011, followed by 2009.
