Considering the poor track record of male winners, post X Factor, in the past such as Matt, Leon, Shane and Steve etc, perhaps Maloney can go on to do what other non winners such as Ollie, One Direction, Rebeccca and Cher have done ie go on to have a successful recording career?

I think he has pretty much sabotaged his own career to be honest.

Obviously yes. I mean, he was far too ill to mime to one line on Sunday so the poor lamb would have had no chance of managing to belt out 2 cruise ship versions of 80's cheese numbers.

Phew, lucky for him he left on Saturday I'd say

If he is signed and releases an album of mainly covers ASAP, it could sell respectable numbers.

Yes 'recording career', as spoken from Chris' very mouth on Saturday night in an interview with local ITV news on Granada.

He has a recording contract offer on the table.

You may not like his singing, but plenty of people did for the first 7 weeks of the show.

Think of all of the crap that Cowell has promoted over the years - wrestlers singing, Mr Blobby, Robson & Jerome.... all garbage, but all sold lots and lots of records and made a lot of money.

Only a fool would leave Chris and the money he'd clearly make through his fanbase on the table.

As long as the obvious campaign against him stops, like.

No, I think someone clearly wants to sabotage his career though.

What has he actually supposed to have done?

- Been a bit rude to someone on Twitter.
- A completely unsubstantiated rumour taken as gospel by the tabloids that he turned up drunk (which Chris denies).

I can think of lots of pop stars who have done far far worse things (including actual criminal offences) and still had careers.

hmm

Unfortunately, Saturday night was followed by Sunday morning

Maloney blew it

His lack of discipline and serious dedication ... and, let's face it, general bad attitude ... bodes ill for any further interest from investors ( which is what recording companies are afterall )

He walked out on his contractual obligation to appear on the final show

... or is he still denying that ?

Firstly: If Christopher told me it was sunny outside I'd look out the window to make sure.

Secondly: Whatever offers were made was before he effectively committed career suicide.

I cannot imagine any major record labels would touch someone with such now tainted reputation of unreliability and a bad temper. But hey, maybe I'm wrong

No, it's an inevitable consequence of his sheer inadequacy of both musical talent and temperament.

Cowell would have stabotaged him if he had won, he can now go to a decent label that will belive in him, the people who voted for him will buy his album.

Yes it' good for him he didn't win.. not because with or without a win he would have had a decent career ( he wouldn't) but it would save further public humiliation and uncomfortable character assassination. It would have been awful to witness

I agree. Very unprofessional. And that's a complete no-no for someone just starting out.

Winning would be his last chance at a record deal, so yes, it's a blessing in disguise

If I was a boss of a record label , I wouldn't take the risk ,
The type of music he wants to do , you need to have a good image , not a drunken image ,

Russell's Watson bubble etc DONT here about them being bad boys .
