are t-mobie's and 3's 3g and 2g coverage as bad as most people make out?
I plan to get a mobile on contract and both the providers above offer the best value at the moment I live in London btw. Thanks greenberet |

tmobile and 3 have the best 3G coverage of any network! regarding 2G it has been mentioned that voda's and o2's 900mhz get in to buildings better than the 1800mhz. however my phone rarely drops to 2G

Hi Mehmet, worth checking this thread as there is a discussion about London coverage going on there.
http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showt...php?p=62900670 If you are only interested in 2G coverage and mainly just use the phone for calls and texts then O2 or Vodafone are strong and have wider scale coverage nationally of 2G. If you want a smartphone and mobile data, and that is important to you then T-mobile or 3 are a good choice. Do check the coverage maps for your house first though, and consider getting a PAYG sim to test before committing to a long contract. |

Not to bash Three but i've found that in London they have deactivated a lot of the 2G roaming due to the extensive 3G coverage. Great in Theory, but at peak times there are a few areas that could do with 2G coverage. Where as EE still has full 2G coverage in these areas.
But i do agree for London go for 3 (fastest with nearly best day to day coverage) or EE (best day to day coverage, nearly fastest.) |

I can verify from experience in London that T- Mobile does work better than O2. My daughter and I were up there last weekend and she consistently had better 3G coverage on her T Mobile phone than I had on my O2.

In my experience 3 has deactivated nearly all of its 3G roaming. The only places I have seen it are in remote areas of the highlands and N.Ireland. Other than that if I can't get a 3G signal it's no service all the way. It's a pretty big problem in doors.

I also agree Three's no 2G backup is definitely a problem indoors, im with EE for that reason and the 2G backup is so handy. I live in Essex right on the edge of East London and there are many places especially indoors where 3 gets no service at all and EE goes to 3G which is still usable, especially for calls and texts!
