Jessie Wallace to make May 2005 EE Return
Jessie Wallace, EastEnders' Kat Slater, has just agreed her return to the soap in May. She said "I think summer is a good time to return. I hope she patches it up with Alfie; I think they make a great team."

Its a little off the mark to what Jessie has recently stated, she said she'd be going back in January, meaning she'd be back on screen late February, early March.
In saying that, someone said that Kathleen Hutchison wants returning characters to have proper storylines for returning, which is good idea. Rather than have her turn up in the Square with no interesting story as to where she's been etc. A bit like a Berridge produced return. I can half see her returning to the Vic and Alfie remaining in the market. I like Kat in the Vic. |

Why?
She can not act, simple as. How the hell you can call over the top shouting and staggering "acting", is a mystery. If they want to bring her back, sounds cruel but infect her with an STD to show the consequences of sleeping around with protection. |

If I was Jessie, I'd consider staying at home with the baby for a few more years. |

In my opinion she is fantastic and her soap awards prove that

I have to disagree with Jessie's acting skills. I dont' neccessarily think she was dire toward the end of her pre maternity leave stint on the show, it was just she was over exposed I think. Every second scene she was in and every second scene she was drunk with more or less the same dialogue i.e. much like Shannis lately.
However, overall Jessie as Kat Slater is fantastic and I'm looking forward to seeing her back. I don't think an STD storyline is the way to go with Kat. She's been traumatised enough. Although I think there will be more drama for her when she returns, it will be more affairs of the heart, rather than the consequences of being a tart lol |

I hope she does return, she is - or at least, should be - a good character. I also think Jessie's quite a good actress, the only problem over the past few months was that she got god-awful storylines, and Maggie Smith would struggle with the cr*p Jessie had to do.

Jessie Wallace is a terrible actress. Shouting and bawling blind drunk and throwing yourself at different blokes is not acting.
Now her real-life fiance is jumping on the celebrity bandwagon and is supposedly appearing on 'The Games.' Do we really need another wannabe who's only famous because of who they know, instead of having any kind of talent? |

I'm v.pleased she's returning - Kat is one of the best characters in EE. Yes the recent exit storyline was crap but I blame LB and the writers not the character or actress. I'm surprised people are saying Jessie's not a good actress though. She does intense emotional scenes excellently and can do humour imo. Definitely one of the better soap actresses at the moment.

Now EE has improved a lot over the past two nights, I do NOT want her back at all! She'd ruin it.

I have to say I haven't missed her in it at all and I think that it can continue very well without her. Its not like she has left a huge gaping hole (no puns intended) in the show.

If she was a great actress then I guess she would not be resuming her acting career in EE but going onto better and bigger roles else where, [cough] like Grant......whatever his real name Mitchell.
