Voting has been rigged
It is totally impossible that Chris went from pulling in double the votes from the others for 7 consecutive weeks to end up going out with such few votes. Its a total fix and I think there should be an investigation into such irregularities.James was hardly getting any then all of a sudden boom he gets loads of votes and ends up winning.

 every year people claim fix.
It is possible that many didn't vote until he ended up in bottom with Ella. That was probably a big turning point for voters. Also the fewer contestants left some anti votes may come in to play. Maybe Ella fans changed their vote to James? Not a fix just because your fav didn't win |

Judging by your name I'm guessing you quite often complain about things on X Factor...
And on topic... I highly doubt it fixed but even if it was IDGAF either way. The reaction is hilarious

If anything an investigation should be made as to how he was topping the votes for that long.

I was not a Christopher fan but I felt really uncomfortable between the criticism of the judges and the boos from the audience. I'm just surprised it took him this long to go on a bender - if that was true...

People started to realise they had to actually vote for the favourite after James and Ella was in the bottom 2 and Ella left.

You can't say this until we know numbers...
For example say 100 people voted in the first week (I know obviously more voted that this just keeping the number simple) and 63 of these votes were for Christopher so he got 63%... Well if by week 7 the voting number had increased to 250 Christopher could still be getting roughly the same amount of votes just the other contestants popularity had increased (it makes sense James fans would have started picking up the phone after he was in the bottom) and his votes were now equaling a lower percentage. And anyway maybe he simply declined in popularity Christopher would not be the first contestant whose popularity declined or stayed the same throughout the contest while others popularity rose. |

Agreed.
James was always coming in sixth and then suddenly he's number one? Cute, X Factor producers. I know your game. I'm too clever to fall for your dirty tricks! |

Unless you believe these people are risking jail and all clubbing together - Producers, phone company, independent observators - just because they prefer a certain act? It's a bullshit theory that makes no sense. |

I don't understand how people actually believe these fixes and conspiracies.

It's a bullshit theory that makes no sense. Plus looking back on previous winners I'm sure that if Chris had won it would not be the first time this show had not been won by what the producers would see as being the most marketable act. They would simply fulfill Christopher contract and release a mediocre album and quickly drop him and sign the contestants they believed would be successful anyway. It wouldn't be the end of the world to them. |

So much desperation, reaching, and bitterness here - it's hilarious.

Don't drink the kool aid. It's not that I don't think the X factor manipulate the public it's that I think they have enough experience to be good at it and if they were conspiring against Christopher it was complete novice work because it became very clear early on that all the judges bar Barlow criticizing him week in and week out was doing nothing but helping Chris so they would have changed strategies pretty early on if it was part of some master plan. The X factor just likes to keep people talking and the Christopher situation has certainly done that. |
