WOW what an episode after a year of crap storyline's and bad execs tonights Eastenders was brilliant I had guessed KH was behind it and I never realised how bad EE had been untill this episode.

So guys it looks like EE will be back to its gory days very soon.

I have to agree it was great. I was waiting for the bit where i would fast forward and for the first time in what seems like forever it never happened.

Great acting by Paul, shame they have lost such a good actor.

I looked up at the end and saw her name and it didnt really suprise me.

Even the banter between, Ian, Den, Alfie and Sam was good - seemed a bit surreal but still good.

Agreed that Paul is of the better actors, do you know when he actually dies? Is it xmas day?

Hopefully as soon as this 'Shannis' (I hate that word so much) crap is over EE can start building itself back up!

I didn't think it was a bad episode either too! Yes you heard me the first time!! The scenes with Paul I take my hat off to

There were still some things that I despised in the episode still. Namely due to bad acting. Sam in particular - blimey that was bad. Andy again got on my nerves, and more Shannis - though at least it wasn't overkill this episode.

All in all a reasonable episode, nothing brilliant as some of you think on here, but a much better standard overall compared to the last few months. If this is how it will work with KH, there is a God for EE. May I just remind you though that familiar proverb: One Swallow doesn't make a summer. Don't forget it!!

Marks: 5/10 [PASS]. (Normally I give it 2-3/10).

WOW... That episode was really different. I thought most of it was better, apart from Andy's scenes cos I didnt have a clue what was going on.
But what did confuse me was how Den was laughing and joking with Alfie, when in a couple of days he's going to make him homeless?

tonights episode of eastenders was amazing compared to most of the rest of this year. Drama throughout and this really made it quality viewing. Long may it continue

This was clearly the first of the rewritten episodes after LB went and a quality job

Hey come on Huch, I praise any soap where it's due, even EE, and you must know that surely. It's just I haven't seen anything of interest at all since Janine's exit really.

Also note it was a 'cautious appraisal', and so I'm not building up my hopes just yet. Still fingers crossed that soon EE might start moving in the right direction. It would be foolish to say that for certain atm however

I know I didn't mean it like that! It's just I know your standards are a lot higher than mine, which isn't a bad thing.

As I say I haven't seen it yet but if it was so much more improved & people can tell the difference then that gives me hope with John Yorke joining January, things can only get better. Like you though I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Oh I missed it! Oh damn, just realised I've missed the 10pm one too! Oh well, never mind, I'm sure I can see the same standards tomorrow.

That's if tonight's episode wasn't just a fluke or one off like Janine's departure in the midst of LB's drawl

It's episodes like tonights that make me wish there were a Steve, or a Phil, or a Grant, *SOMEONE* to go up against Andy on equal terms, that would be a great story line.

Den is too old, Dennis is too girlie. Maybe this ex Bill bloke will be the guy who does, but then again maybe Andy will be gone before that. Is he leaving soon? No spoilers just a yes or no would be good.

I was in my mates house *stupid Xmas* because she was leaving Dublin for the holidays, I completely missed Corrie but I insisted on EastEnders as I had a feeling Kathleen Hutchison's first episode would have been last night.

I have to say although I was half watching it, half talking to my friend, I saw the most of it and I have to say it was very good, a very good start for KH and with John Yorke on his way back, its definitely looking up. Last night after just one episode in charge, I think KH showed up Louise Berridge and as time goes on the Beeb bosses are going to be wondering what the hell they were doing giving her that job.

The whole feel to the episode was totally different,it was more charged and alive. I'm definitely watching tonights and will be watching Xmas Day for sure!

Why are you confused?
Den doesnt know he's about to get the Vic, and doesnt know he is about to make Alfie homeless.

I would have thought originally that Den would have bought the Vic from Sam by now and allowed the Moons to stay but there'd be a falling out. He actually buys it and just chucks them out, what a git, and he's got a flat right across the Square.

The Mirror tv guide said in their weekly EastEnders preview, that Monday, Tuesday, Thursday were to be highly entertaining with Xmas Eve and Day also to be great. I have to say at the middle of the year I reallly had no hope for the show but hopefully we're on the right track.

Berridge Long May You Never Return To A Tv Soap Again.....except maybe Emmerdale lol
