Was it just me or was tonights Corrie on a par with bad Eastenders?

The whole imaginary friend and darts thing was cringeing.

Funny, I was just thinking how brilliant it was and one of the best Corrie episodes of the year!

I didn't see them both nor Emmerdale, I think I'm finally cutting down on the soaps I watch! Haven't watched Emmerdale for at least 2 weeks! *SHOCK HORROR*

Have to agree. It was hilarious (Cilla, Sally, Fred) and tragic (Karen) all at the same time.

I actually thought it was really good tonight, especially Suranne Jones. The imaginary friend thing was obviously Sophie's attempt to get some attention for a change. Calling Sally a murderer might just do it

I loved Sophie's invisible friend, it makes such a good change from the usual "you're just ignoring me. SHE's your favourite" angle with soap sibling rivalry. I loved her screaming that Sally was a murderer - oh please oh please God of Soap, PLEASE let her say that at the Oakhill Christmas Fete pleeeeease?

Yeah i thought that was hilarious.

The whole thing in the pub, and when Kirk told the story of what they are actually doing was so funny. Choosing straws to throw the dart to cut the cards to toss the coin to get first dibs on who does what! LOL

I like the 2 episodes with the half hour gap. It gives you the chance to do those little jobs you have been meaning to do in the middle bit.

Corrie was on top form again tonight - another excellent episode, getting the right balance of humour and tragedy. Well done Coronation Street!

Hear hear! Great ep, very moved by Karen's miscarriage. If only you had seen Steve's face by your hospital bedside earlier dear!
Nice to know the top two soaps were of at least a respectable standard

Did anyone notice that when Angela put those big fake teeth in, and then the camera went to Sonia's big toothy grin as she took a picture, the fake teeth looked just like Sonia's. lmao, i couldn't stop laughing

Yes, I think that was intended. Very funny!! I wonder if the actress took offence at that

Wow I guess it was just me then lol I really thought it was awkward tonight and the comedy didnt flow naturally and was too forced, almost sitcom.

I loved tonight's episode, the darts thing worked well, because it was meant to show that these guys were being idiots. As long as it's just Sophie trying to get some attention back off Sally after her obsessing over Rosie, and therefore it's a pretend imaginary friend then it's ok. Otherwise, get that kid some counselling! I felt so bad for Karen and Steve - steve's face looking at the scan. Can't wait to see Chesney at the Oakhill fayre!

Oh I loved yesterday's (oops should that be two days' ago now it is after midnight ) Corrie. My whole family was in stitches more than a few times during both episodes. Such as: several bits during the Underworld Xmas party- Sean: "Here, kitty, kitty, kitty" LMAO that was GREAT! we didn't stop laughing for like 5 mins; also Sally murdering Sophie's imaginery friend- I really like the new Sophie, she is a talented young actress; also the best man thing.
Was also very moving at the end with Karen losing the baby.

I think the thing about Corrie is that you actually look forward to watching each episode as you know it will be 30 mins of pure entertainment, both through comedy (fantastic one-liners always scripted in) and following good, well-portrayed character-based storylines which grip you. I went through an EastEnders phase when I was younger for about 3 or 4 months and I only really watched it so I could talk about it with my friends and to be honest sometimes it felt like a chore to go and watch it because it was all doom and gloom. So once I grew out of the need to discuss EE with my friends I truly and honestly didn't see the point of spending 2 hrs a week subjecting myself to such depressing television.

Anyway, back on topic, I thought Mon's episodes were fantastic

yes, fantastic stuff corrie - you really know how to please the viewers!

corrie have hit it big with child actors, and EE are trying to because they've seen the success of chesney, but they're failing

Helen Flannagan, who plays Rosie, has really grown on me the past few weeks. There are five child gems in the show (Chesney, Rosie, Sophie, Craig and David) all with superb talents

I loved it too. Covered all the emotional bases, I thought.
I love Sally now. I think they've completely revived her as
a character in the last few months. She is so funny in a
ghastly way. I did think the Imaginary Friend thing was
a bit strange but then, I think it would seem like that if
it happened in real life so it worked for me !

I loved both episodes of Corrie too - very funny and very moving.

I didn't find the imaginary friend thing odd at all - just very amusing - especially when Kevin took his imaginary friend Eric down to the Rovers . Two of the best episodes for a while I thought. Can't wait to see Sally and Cilla slagging each other off at the Oakhill Fayre
