part 4 already? lol
Anyway since you were talking about the winner single... I don't like Cannonball either, I did buy it off iTunes and also bought the physical copy to support the girls, but tbh I think I've only listened to it for 20 times. I'm so glad that they decided to ditch it as soon as the tour finished and thank god they didn't include it on their album! It's probably one of the worst winner singles , I just wished they had released DLG instead.

It was so obvious Cannonball was chosen for Janet lol. It just annoys me so much that this year they went back to the "every finalist has a different winner song" format that they used in 2010, I think it's very unfair on the girls, I believe the sales would've been much higher had it been DLG or another song that actually suited them. But on a brighter note though, their first proper debut has the potential to be their biggest selling single rather than their winner single, not many winners managed that tbh, and I see it as a bigger achievement than having huge sales for the winner song as it shows the winner has done well on their own (especially when Wings didn't have any XF support).

I would love for little mix to have released dlg as the winners song or impossible, i dont know if they would have done aswell as james with it but IM confident they would have went platinum with it by now, although cannonball hasnt been too bad, its sold over 400,000.

The most important thing is the album. We'll see how James does compared to Little Mix and the others.

I checked out Shontelle's version. The song itself didnt impress me either way on one listen, but who knows. Anyway, good for him. Quote:

LOL, image seems to be an issue lol. They could never win. When they dress normal everyone says sack the stylist. They look like kids. When they mature, they still say sack the stylist, why they sexing up? LOL
I think that why a lot of people liked them because they were normal girls wearing normal clothes. But people need to realise that they dress up for music videos to go with the song. haha |

Ya know, I love French & Saunders but I really think Jennifer is talking out the side of her mouth here. Girl groups have been "manufactured" for decades. Go back to publicity stills from the 40s 50s 60s (do the Supremes look like girls next door?) and its all the same.
And the conversation always goes back to "on the XF they looked like normal girls". What everybody forgets who brings that up is that they never dressed ordinarily for their performances. They were always costumed. The reason people think they looked ordinary is that they were filmed offstage constantly in their street clothes and that was the visual impression left. |

Here is the full quote
Talking of the manufactured girl groups of today, Jennifer referred to X Factor 2011 winner's Little Mix. “The contrast of what girl groups are now is still relevant to us all. It’s interesting. How totally manufactured they’ve become is extraordinary. Look at Little Minx, or Little Mix or whatever they are,'' she said. ''Initially they appealed to girls when they went on X Factor and they looked like normal girls.'' She continued: “When I saw them recently they looked like vamps. What had happened to them? It was a shame. I liked the girls looking like girls.'' |

I am not going to remember the 1st aniversery with fond memories after tonight Lol.
The football team I support just got knocked out of the 1/4 final of the Capital One Cup on penalties to a team in League 2. We had our full team out as well lol.

I knew the girls were on a magazine in a little article but when I opened after buying it today, my jaw dropped when I saw this:
http://25.media.tumblr.com/d437496cb...mz0o1_1280.jpg Its the first time this mexican magazine for teens gives a full article to Little Mix. Though they messed up the Jesy and Jade info and they had to stick 1D in the article no matter what, is great. It totally made my day. It doesnt mention anything about music, but it kind of makes sense since Sony Mexico still have nothing confirmed about a release here. I forgot to mention yesterday, both Wings and DNA can be seen in the most important mexican video channel on cable. |
