In a ideal world I would not want Jose back, Love the guy but he is a powder keg and Chelsea seems to make him a even bigger one then normal. But we have little option, We need a spark to make us move up a gear and he is the biggest spark in football today, But what we should do this time is be ready for him leaving in 2/3 years, We was not prepard for his leaving last time and from that time on we been woundering around in a daze looking for someone.

Get a really good number 2 in and have Jose teach him the tricks of the trade. 2/3 years under a manager like him will be more then enough. Then when Jose goes off to join Utd we are ready to move on.

I take it that you're referring to Mourinho, not Pulis.

I agree

Even to the point of having lampard move into coaching under him.

Conte or Klopp would have been my choices. Hard to say if either of them would be genuinely interested if a concrete offer was made. Wouldn't blame them if they weren't given Roman's volatile nature. I'd certainly be approaching them before JM though. I'd even rather we offered it to Steve Clarke.

Think Stevey is about to green at the moment, He doing a decent job at West Brom at the moment but its a big step up for him and I think it would end up like it did with AVB.

Ideally he'd have a couple of years more experience, but i think he has the tools to be a good manager. Obviously knows the club inside out and already had a decent spell here as assistant to JM. Needs to be given a better chance than AVB or RDM ever got though.

However if we're just looking for a short term fix (which is all JM would be), then Roman should try and persuade Hiddink to delay retirement for a year or two.

Agree Guss would be the best choice but once he has made up his mind we have seen Guss is not one for changing. I dont think he a fan of "club managment" nowadays. Its a shame as he would be perfect for us.

Think the number 2 will have to have had some form of working as a number 2 or number 1 at a lower level before he takes the Chelsea assistant managers job. Getting experence of two jobs at the same time I think would be hard work. Not saying Lamps could not do it, He one of the most intellegent footballers in the game today and also he still playing and can still play at a very decent level (even if the idiot Gouley disagrees), I not sure even Jose could convince him to give up playing to be a assistant manager at the moment, His hunger for getting on that pitch is too strong at the moment.

Robbie was perfect for the role but we mucked that up so need to start looking again, the two names that spring to mind for me Poyet and Zola are doing to well (sadly for us) for them to consider taking the job

On e subject of Torres it's interesting to note that if RVP doesn't score against Stoke on Sunday , he will equal Torres's worst run of 10 games without scoring !!

Shush, we and the press are not allowed to criticize rvp. In another thread someone argued that he was bought by fergie (at a cost of £24 million) to only get 10 goals a season!

He had one good season and suddenly he was the best striker in the world!

RVP has played well this season, and argubly even carried Man Utd through some games scoring vital goals. Cant compare him with Torres. No doubt in my mind that RVP is one of the best strikers in the league(and Torres isnt anymore)

I think JM would be a good move for the club, artleast in the short term. Agree that he maybe isnt the most forward thinking manager, but he will get us success no matter what. But i agree it may only be for 3-4 years before he moves on again.

United fans are already putting Falcao into their next seasons lineup predictions.

That would be a terrible day for CFC fans.

Not sure, but that doesn't mean Napoli won't accept offers of under that.

It's Roman's money, so if he wants to spend it that's fine. Just don't want to see another 50m striker come in and struggle at the club. We've got those already.

I see we're being linked with Hulk yet again. That is definitely someone I won't be happy to see us spunk big money on.

It's not going to happen, so you can stop worrying. £50m on a striker, that we don't really need? No chance.

I think (hope) that this is the year that Fergie finally addresses the midfield.

Yes, that would be nice, to see us sign a few midfilders, one can dream on that though!

I wasn't too bothered about us going out at the CL group stage this season. (I was more disappointed with us screwing up our PL title challenge). We were never in a million years going to win the CL 2 years in a row. We do at least have a realistic chance of adding the Europa League to our haul and winning two European trophies back to back would be a very decent achievement.

Next season (assuming we qualify) we'll hopefully put in a much better performance in the CL though.

Lovely finish.

Would take a spectacular collapse for us to lose this now.
