This is what I've been worried about, playing loads of games, getting to semis and then getting knocked out. All for nothing and it's affected the top four chase.

100% pen and a red but the ref had no chance of seeing it whatsoever, there was a crowd running after the ball so the linesman probably didn't have a clear view either

Yes, I thought it was a great game to watch, despite the result.
It did show up our weeknesses though, most of which we've discussed at length in here many times.

Good game and no shame in losing to City, they're a strong team. Bad defending cost us for their goals, and City got lucky with a couple of decisions. Definitely highlighted once again our need for a powerhouse midfielder as we've said many times. I couldn't understand why Rafa waited so long after we went 2-0 down to bring Torres on, had he made the change sooner we may have got back into the game quicker. Oh well, still got a great chance in the Europa League.

Was a pretty entertaining watch, end to end at times and there should have been a lot more goals, part from good goal keeping. We were awful in the first half but improved a lot in the second. Still think we were not as good as City and deserved to lose. They played well, although Aguero should have been sent off.

Azpil and Oscar shouldn't start on Wednesday. Don't want to be too critical of them after the seasons they have had, but both were very poor today. Can probably expect Lampard and Terry to come in, and Moses too.

Probably asking too much for Ba and Zorres to start together on Wednesday. I'd love to see us go out with something unexpected - predictability in football is no good thing.

Every game feels like a must win, and fulham away will be tough on Wed. Agree that Rafa will rotate and Lampard/terry will be back, he has no choice to be honest. Thought there was a few tired legs today but we still put in a good shift.

A great game thought in the first 20 minutes we looked very leggy and tired and that city were going to run away with it,but in the second half we played quite well..
Again what a goal from Ba...........he can score them.
Think City just deserved it and as for Aguero was an awful tackle...........was it a Brazil-Argentina thing?

Isnt it amazing, when Hazard toe-ended the ball from under a cheating ball boy, there were calls for him to be banned for the next 9 months.

And when Arguero deliberately does a two-footed stamp on a Chelsea player, it is hardly mentioned in the media at all.

We not going to catch a break from the officals so its not use moaning about it.

If we had a manager who did not write his changes in his note pad 2 weeks before the game and had some backbone it was a game we had a real chance of winning.

A fool could see it was not working 25 minutes into the game, Ok i can understand a view of not changing it too early but it should have been done at half time. As the game went on we getting more and more balls in to the box and we dont use Lamps? I have never cared what Rafa has said about Chelsea as a club or as fans, I dont care about anyone views on anything our manager can think we are all aliens and the mothership will one day come back and take us home as long as he is good enough for the job, Rafa is not. City would not take him,Utd would laugh him out the building and Roy Keane would be considered more,Arsenal would refuse to sign for his application form when it was sent to them via Special Delivery.

So now we have to go all out for the EUROPA cup. We need to win something. We have a number of new players and winning something this early in their Chelsea careers will give them the need to win more, Much like the Charling Cup was a very good springboard during the Jose years.

I know we going to hear the same old rubbish about needing to finish in the top 4 so we can be in the league for armchair fans next season but we are not a club from North London, We dont bring out a DVD of a league game we win, We are not a team where our manager says coming 4 is a trophy. We are Chelsea, We are the team in London that actually wins something. We are the team that can stand toe to toe with Utd in regards to tropyies won might lose out in the end but we are close to them unlike other clubs. We do not celebrate being medicore in a medicore league
