It's been a few days since I posted.
To be honest, despite some good results recently, I'm becoming more and more depressed with our current transfer policy. It appears Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole, and even John Terry ( according to some rumours) are all going to be considered surplus to requirements.
Now we are considering bringing in David Villa, a 31 years old, just back from a serious injury. He doesn't appear to be part of Barca's future plans, but he's ok for Chelsea ?
All right, a loan deal until the end of the season might make sense. But if we really are considering paying £12m it's totally crazy..what will we offer him, a 3 year contract at 7 or 8 million a year ?
Is this just another attempt to coax a few decent performances out of Torres ?..bring in his favourite manager, and now one of his old mates. It beggars belief, the amount of time and money we have wasted on this one player. That one transfer has set us back three years in my opinion..and yes, I know we are European champions, but that was a miracle.

Anyway, another "must win" game this afternoon if we want to stay in touch. Spurs are looking ominously good, Arsenal are improving, and our opponents this afternoon are also in the running for a top four place.

No..outplayed so far. We seem half-asleep, they are winning every 50-50 ball and appear a yard or two quicker all over the pitch. Having said that, we just had our best bit of play so far. But it's taken 30+ minutes.

Slow starts are nothing new for us, we never look ready at the beginning, is our warmup wrong?

Still, we are back in it and we were doing very well in the last 10-15 mins, starting to dominate Everton. Still hoping we can win this game but its a difficult fixture so a draw wouldnt be an awful result.

We cant lose this though, we will be out of the top 4 if we do, with Everton and Spurs looking very strong for a place in Europe.

Torres looks so bad at the moment, nothing is going well for him, we NEED another striker in January, i dont even care who.

This is what happens when we play with no proper DM -_-'

We must get a DM in January with Mikel off and Romeu injured.

Frank Lampard has saved our bacon (for now!)...we are so vulnerable on the counter attack. Ramires, whilst he gives protection for Azpi, his best contribution to attack has come from him making runs down the centre.

The key to beating Chelsea is to apply pressure. We need to retain possesion better in the scond half as Everton could have been at least 2-1 up.

Need to avoid giving the ball away carelessly. Shocking on their goal.
Lamps again. We must be mad letting him go.

In other news, Demba Ba will most likely be coming to us in January. Decent signing IMO. Gives us another option from Torres.

I think Luiz will be ok alongside a "sitting" DM..unfortunately that role doesn't come naturally to Frank.

I'll be very happy if he signs for us £7m is a great price for him - he's just what we need right now.

Seems a bargain, feel a bit sorry for Newcastle actually.
What are his "medical problems" ?..presumably the Chelsea lawyers will have some clauses in his contract.

Yup, both Luiz and Lamps love to roam forward. I can't blame Frank for getting forward though, he's always been an attacking centre mid and having him convert to a defensive minded player was never going to be an overnight thing.

Dodgy knee, he was originally going to sign for Stoke rather than West Ham but he failed the medical. His knee was described as a 'ticking time bomb' by Pulis.

He's not insured. That's the only issue. Newcastle risked it as he's never had insurance there for him.

Probably a non-issue for a sugar Daddy club tbh

Letting Frank go would be madness, in the last few games he's been as good as any midfielder in the Premiership.

We certainly can't moan about our luck today, to be fair Everton deserve something out of the game. Still I'm not complaining.
