This is a result to judge the manager on. Nicely done.

Good result, surprised Turnbull never conceded! Great to beat Everton on their own turf today. Rafa got it spot on, fair play to him.

Great result. Lamps again.
If Ba signs I can see him getting plenty of games as Torres is still a bit iffy.

Great 3 points. It was a tough game against a very good team, and we showed some fighting spirit. I respect Everton and Moyes, it was hard but fair, and there was none of the "nonsense" we've seen from some teams recently.

Is Demba Ba off to the ACON too? He wont be available for us until late Jan/Feb if so.

Yes, Torres didn't touch the ball in the first 20 minutes.
He was much better in the 2nd half, but the "old" Torres would have lashed that ball from Oscar into the net.
It seems to me that he is happier playing in the secondary strikers role these days, despite all the talk about him wanting to lead the attack.
He actually links up well with players around him, but as a lone front man he doesn't appear to offer much of a threat and is easily contained ?

Sucks you won (joke) if you are letting Lampard go although I know you don't want him to go - which I don't blame you. Would like him to come to us. Haha He was the difference in the end...

If you guys did sign Ba, what sort of team would you play? I presume that someone would have to be dropped to make way for him?
Would you play two up top then?

No, same team just replace Ba with Torres. Or Ba can come off the bench. Whatever happens he gives us a different option to Torres, a stronger presence upfront.

I guess that could work, would either player be hapy dropping to the bench?

They could play together, depends on the set-up really..and the opposition, form of other players etc. Hazard was poor today..and I've defended him against criticism in the past. It just gives us another option, and I never like the idea that any player cannot be dropped..breeds complacency.

Can Torres play with a partner? He didn't do to well when played with Drogba did he?
It will be interwsting to see what happens.

By the way, what was the problem with Cech? Why was he subbed?

Torres and Drogba never really played together. I'd stick Ba in ahead of Torres, but I can't see Benitez doing that. As long as we don't stick Ba on either wing I imagine he'll be happy to trade starting every game for more money.

Hazard was anonymous today. The only time I really noticed him was a header before Lampard's second.

Ahh, many thanks, I missed the start of the second half, and didn't hear the reason.

Cech had an ankle injury, he didn't look right when he was making clearances.

No, it didn't work with Drogba. But Drogba was a real target man, doesn't Ba like to drift around more ? Actually even Torres does some of his best work these days as a provider.
I don't see why 4-2-3-1 has to be set in stone anyway, we could mix things up a bit. We could go 4-3-1-2 with Mata just behind a front two.

Ba is such a better option than trying to get Villa. £7m? Great bargain!

You are the experts here, I am just looking at this from an outsiders perspective.
Playing Mata behind a frobt two, would that mean Hazard being dropped?
It is a good deal for Ba, don't get me wrong there, but it is just the actual implimentation that intreagues me, that is all.

Indeed. Hopefully he'll have the same impact as the rest of our 'cheaper' players. (Cahill, Moses, and Azpil)

I wouldn't necessarily call it "dropped".. a kinder term these days is "rested".
I'm really just saying that it gives us more options, starting the game and coming off the bench aren't so different as they used to be..in my opinion anyway. Players have to get used to the idea that the personnel can change game by game, or even during a game, as the needs arise. It's no reflection on the player, just tactics.

Yeah with Falcao wanting to stay put at Atletico for the time being, the board has actually done a good job! The other day I had a dream that Falcao went to Man U in the January transfer window and my god...it was the most horrible dream ever. The sight of Van Persie and Falcao ripping up the PL was too much to bare!

Just to confirm your dream, that partnership has won myself plenty of trophies on FM13!
