Oshea and wes brown have won the world cup have they?

The point is, he currently holds those titles at the same time. Quite amazing really.

And he won the golden boot at the european championships.
ha, you realise he doesn't hold those titles... he has winners medals.. his title is world cup winner.. Spain are the holders of the world cup... i's a subtle but important difference. My point is that it doesn't make him a great player, look at Casillas, I don't think another keeper has won as much as him but if people rate him as the best ever they're pretty daft.

That said, I'm pleased for Torres, he scored a great goal last night and he's probably had a torrid time the last couple of years off the back of that move. Winning goal in the semi final last year, scores in the final this year... financially £50m isn't looking too bad now.

Well people keep saying Fergie has won 28 trophies, do we have to get pedantic and say he didnt, and he hasnt won anything?

Someone at this moment, has won the world cup, european cup, champions league cup and uefaeuropa league cup at the same time, and throw in a golden boot too.

This has never been done before, and i doubt that it will ever happen again.

Im not talking about him as the "best ever", you must have misinterpreted me.

1998 World Cup, 2000 Euros, 2002 CL... I don't believe Madrid dabble with the losers competitions...

Congratulations Chelsea.

Our ending was still more dramatic though!
That's for sure
Another trophy. Credit to Rafa and the players for a great victory.

And another appearance in the Super Cup.
Nice to see that from a Chelsea fan. Giving credit to all involved. Couldn't believe what I was hearing when after the game some chelsea fans were refusing to give Rafa the credit saying it was the players who won it. I mean really - when they win it's the players when they lose it's Rafa...not fair.

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce Frank Lampard has signed a one-year extension to his contract.

Already the third-highest appearance-maker in the club's history, next season will be the vice-captain's 13th at Stamford Bridge.

Ron Gourlay, Chelsea FC Chief Executive, said: 'Frank has been an important player for Chelsea Football Club for a long time and has played a significant part in the club's success.

'We have been talking to him since the end of last year and our discussions have been entirely positive throughout. We are delighted we are now announcing an extension to his contract which will keep him at the club until 2014.'

I believe you

I can't believe the saga surrounding Lampard and that there was any possibility that he would be let go.

Perhaps someone should tell Ron Gourlay that he could save some time in future, just come on the DS Chelsea thread and take our advice.

Great news.

Am I being paranoid or do Man U or their players make announcements when we win things. I remember we were knocked off the headlines when Cantona announced his retirement the day we won the FA Cup in '97.

It was hilarious yesterday. The day after an English team wins the uefaeuropa cup all the headlines and talking points are about a 38 yr old player "retiring", even though he effectively retired when he left real madrid years ago.

These days the UK media are ridiculous. Football is never the story. Its not just chelsea, happens with all the big teams.

The media never want to report on the game, but rather have an argument if the chelsea team captain should have lifted the cup up with Frank. (even though they have been lifting the cups together for a long while!).

I've never hated Torres. I guess the main reason I don't like him is because he used to tear Utd apart when playing for Liverpool and that my partner fancied him. I'm genuinely quite pleased for him though. He's had such a torrid few years and it's nice to look at his stats for the season and see a big improvement, especially in Europe. I think we'll see an even better Torres next season, which really, can only be a good thing for the Premier League.

United fans not happy with the rumor that the alleged £100m chelsea are spending this summer would go on 1 player - Ronaldo!

Ive never thought about it before, but if he wants to join the most successful club in football then why not

He and Mourinho don't get on too well, do they?

Not that I'd ever expect tit to happen, but it would make the rumour even more stupid.

Is that after you've conveniently airbrushed Utd and Liverpool out of the history books then?

Never mind Real Madrid,Barcelona,AC Milan, Bayern Munich blah de blah.

Back from the wonderful city of Amsterdam after another 90 plus minutes of torture. We dont like to win these things easy do we?

Glad to see Lamps captain the side to another win in Europe but more important then anything Lamps signing a new contract, At last we do the right thing (not holdig out much hope we carry on doing so).

We did not play our best football and some players should have been subbed (Ramires please stand up), Now we have to go beat Everton, A score draw and we opening up chances of a play-off game and although beating Arsenal at Wembley would be a great laugh its the last thing we need.

Essentially we won that game without our two best players, Hazard out, Mata running on fumes which makes it all the more impressive an achievement, I thought Torres was MOM and the ghost of the great striker of the past re-appeared.

I have to hand it to Benitez, the amount of grief he's got, the punishing schedule, the limited squad and he's got us in the top four and won a trophy. Great job - my faith in you has been repaid!

Big shout out has to go to Ivanovic who missed the CL final - after his cock ups against Swansea it was great to see him redeem himself - plus that tackle/ clearance by Cahill was bloody superb.

WE KNOW WE ARE ETC. ETC.

Shittest song ever but fairly accurate
