After waiting for ages to see Ba and Torres play together two up front, they didn't seem to be on the same wavelength. Not sure if that will change with more practice, but they looked awkward today. If Jose comes in, I hope he judges the strikers on merit rather than price tag and reputation as if there's just one up front it should be Lukaku on form.

Very happy with 3rd. Good season in the end.

Chelsea fans with posters saying 'we forgive you Rafa' - yeah now you do once he's got us into the top four and won a trophy, but when he needed your backing when we were grinding through this season where were ya?

F*****g massive bunch of bellends!!!!!

Great end to a massively tough season - roll on a couple of top signings, hopefully Falcao/ Neymar someone in that league, failing that Villa.

Not that fussed about Ronaldo - I wouldn't want to spend any more than 40 mill on him. Rooney would be nice for no more than 15 mill.

Need a defender and a tough tacking midfielder as well - anyways WKWWA, WKWWA....

Which implies they had cause to be hostile to him in the first instance for some non-existent slight against them. Nonsensical. He never did anything to Chelsea other than beat them in the CL. That's about it. The Chelsea fans who were so hostile to him should be saying "we apologise".

If it is Jose coming to the Bridge It would be nice if he gave our young talents a chance and not just stick his guys back in the team because they're his mates from his last period at the club.

One of the many things Rafa deserves credit for is for giving players like Moses, Ake, Bertrand and others a chance to play to show what they can do. If Lukaku was there I'm sure he'd have done the same.

Jose or whoever has to keep this system going at the club.

Ake was great today IMO. His best game for us so far.

Still not convinced by the recent Torres-love. I applaud his goals in the last 2 games, but we've seen it before. Over 1100 minutes without a league goal can't be overlooked. I still think we should do all we can to get rid.

Do you folks think Drogba would come back if Jose did? Would you want him back?

No x2.

Move forwards, not backwards. We have some top young players and top old players. We need some in-between.

No to Drogba returning. Would be stupid when we've got his natural successor Lukaku, who just needs a chance with us.

Agreed, his ship has sailed.

First time in ages I'm actually looking forward to watching MotD. 17 goals in 32 games, including a hat-trick against United. If he wasn't already ours we'd be looking to sign him.

You have to admit, Terry changing into full kit again was just funny

1. Juan Mata - Overall i think many would agree he's been our best player this season. Pure class.

2. Eden Hazard (azar) - Maybe a little hot and cold, but for his first season in the PL i think he's done great. He's also delivered on occasions when it's really mattered.

3. Frank Lampard - Legend, i don't need say anymore really.

Most improved - David Luiz, he's really made a name for himself this season. Been a little more consistent, and made many positive contributions to the team. He's won games for us this season, played a pivotal in Europe, domestic lge and cups. Okay so he's a little way off being considered 'world class' - but slowly but surely he's getting there. Play him in CM Jose we beg you, he really comes into his own in that position.

Great season in the end - EL and 3rd place - Dare i say it 'thank you Rafa'

Have to say am well pleased with this season top 3 finish and a Europa League win.
Must admit i never thought that Rafa would get us there,at times some of his subs were just
I was one of the ones who couldn't wait to see the end of him but i will have to hold my hands up and say Well done Rafa along with our wonderful Team

Think I'd stick Cech ahead of Lampard - another key save today. With our defence in front of him he's been the difference in so many games.

Mata has been fantastic, one of the best players in the world now, for me anyway.

Hazard has been good, but not consistently good. No doubt he has bags of talent and offers a lot going forward but i question his defensive skills / work rate at times. Reminds me a lot of Robben, which is good as Robben is a great player. Still, hes had a good first season in the premier league and adapted well which is good to see, the great thing hes still young so hes only going to get better, so glad he signed for us and not one of the other 100 clubs that wanted him(think it speaks volumes when pretty much every big club were trying to sign him, including Real/Man Utd)

Lampard has been OK, but its not been his best season, obviously we are looking through rose tinted glasses as he broke the record, but theres no doubt hes a legend and im so pleased hes staying for another year. We should keep him around until he retires, then put him in the coaching squad

Agree that Luiz/Cech have been fantastic too, Luiz gets better and better with every game really, he is really learning a lot and maturing as a player. I still think he can become one of, if not the best defender /midfielders in the world if he wants to be, very very talented footballer.

I agree about Torres, yeah hes picked up form recently, but i think its just best for everyone if he goes back to spain. We cant keep sitting around for him to get better, as hes had plenty of time now, and i think the sad reality is the old Torres isnt coming back. He can still do a job but i just dont think hes the £50m 30+ goal a season striker that he used to be.

Therefore, Falcao/Neymar would be ideal, and we defenitely need to recall Lukaku. I dont see the problem in having Falcao / Lukaku / Ba as a strike force, we need more depth and cover and tbh its been shocking this season having to rely solely on Torres(and Ba since Jan)

Azpilicueta has been so solid this season. Arguably our best signing

Mata
Cech
Hazard

In that order for me.

Agree with Luiz being the most improved player.

In the end, all things considered, I think it was a satisfactory season. Some of our pre-season decisions still annoy me. When you looked at our bench for the Europa League final it was laughable for a club like Chelsea. One of the biggest spending clubs in Europe and we leave ourselves with only one eligible striker !..and Just to rub it in, Sturridge and Lukaku both score hat-tricks in the final week of the season.
Still, whole seasons sometimes turn on a couple of key moments. We finished 14 points behind United, that sounds massive. But that one controversial game at home, when a couple of dreadful refereeing decisions cost us a probable win, made a big difference. Take away that (not to mention all the fall-out that occurred afterwards) and the difference would only be 8 points. Throw in the stupid points we lost from some absurd results, and we would have been pushing United all the way to the wire.

But that's all water under the bridge now. It's going to be an interesting summer in the transfer market. It sounds as if RA is preparing to spend big again, so the rumour-mill will be working overtime. Ronaldo, Falcao, Cavani, Rooney and Fellaini are all apparently on the way.

22 goals including some winners contrary to what the critics say!

Now thats what i call a shopping list!

One person we dont want is Neymar. It would be a huge gamble and a waste of money. Let him go to City for £80m instead.

In the end, you have to say it has been a great season for Chelsea. Losing so many of our core players, and bringing in a few untested players has actually worked out well.

As everyone has said, Mata has been fantastic. It was just a shame that he was clearly suffering from playing too many games.

Hazard has had a brilliant start to his first season. At times you can clearly see why he was tipped to one day be the best player in the world. In the first few games he was unplayable - penalty after penalty was awarded to him as cloggers had to chop him down. We need more of that.

Oscar has done very well. A player i hadn't seen much of before, i was quite skeptical at his signing. But you can clearly see that this young chap has quality, real quality and im looking forward to seeing more of him.

Azpi (bar the handball) has done ok in a tough position. First season again, he can only get better. He was quite underrated, it subtly allowed Ivan to play more centrally (with cahill) and that allowed us to push Luiz into central midfield.

If you like Luiz in mid, then thank Azpi

Torres has had yet another poor season, and yet when the time really mattered he found the net. He scored the first in the Europe final and secured us 3rd place.

I am really looking forward to getting players back in from loan. As every CFC fan will tell you, Lukaku needs to come back to the main squad now. That year out has done him the world of good - so much better than not being played at the bridge (and he wasnt going to be, lets face it).

The strikers will definitly be shaken up, i really hope we dont lose ba and lukaku in the process. Next season we need 4 recognised strikers and i dont mind who they are.

Ba, Torres, Lukaku Falcao would be amazing

Falcao, Cavani, Rooney & Ronaldo with oscar, mata and hazard supplying them is just fantasy football and simply cannot happen

I hope our formation next season is:

Falcao
Hazard Oscar Mata
Luiz Fellaini
Cole Cahill Ivan Azpi
Cech

Bench:

Ba, Torres, Lukaku, Moses, Marin, Ramires, Terry, Shaw, Courtois, DeBruyne

Out the door: Mikel, Benayoun, Malouda, Turnbull, Hilario, Ferreira, Romeu,

Sounds like Madrid will be holding a meeting with Mourinho later today. Could be an announcement sooner than we'd hoped...?

I see Malouda will soon be a free agent. I wish him well, he's had a bit of a raw deal with us really, in my opinion. He was totally ignored for some reason, his last game for us was the Champions League final. Still only 32, he had a couple of excellent seasons with us, 2009/10 with 15 goals and 15 assists was his best.

Can't wait for him to tell all. He did promise he would.

Squad for pointless friendlies. No McEachran or other loan players.

Don't see Neymar coming to the club. It appears the only club he wants to join is Barca, and it's just a case of when Barca and Santos agree a deal that sees him go the Nou Camp apparently.

Falcao and Cavani are so alike. Both are considered the top two strikers currently in Europe but no one can really decide who is better than the other. It most likely wouldn't matter which one we signed, they should both provide goals for the team.

And of course there's still the Rooney rumours. Just don't see him being sold to another Premier League club unless the offer is really high. It may not be an avenue that should be pursued.

If Roman really is prepared to offer a transfer budget of £100m, we should really be abled to bring some talent to the club.
