Mourinho has gone to Italy and Spain and hasn't enjoyed himself as much as he did here. I honestly cant see where he'd go again after us.

We've changed our transfer policy since he was last year and have started to do a better job with our younger players. I can't wait to hear what Mourinho has to say about it all.

I'd love for this news to be followed by the sackings of Gourlay and Buck....”

He will only leave Chelsea for the Portugal job.

How manymore times, rafa lost us more games than he won.

he could set a team up, but he couldnt react to changes in players or tactics in the game.

its just not good enough, thats why he had to go

Not at all keen on the latest rumoured transfer targets of Sneijder and Dzeko.

Sneijder has fallen away badly over the past few years, and Dzeko is nothing more than an expensive bench player.

Still, we have to be realistic and accept that there's not many genuine top class players for sale, so we might have to make do with second or even third class players.

we absolutely do not need sneijder, unless he is happy to be benched and we can get rid of the other deadwood midfielders we have.

dzeko is a good player, i really rate him and at the right price he would be a great signing for us.

Dzeko's a decent bench option. Given how much he hates the super-sub tag* I doubt he'll be keen on a move to us.

*not enough to not be shit every time he starts a game.

The Sneijder links are laughable.

José Mourinho will coach a World XI tomorrow at Michael Ballack's testimonial match in Leipzig (19:00 BST, live & free-to-air on MDR at 19.2°E). The game will probably go ahead despite the floodings that are currently afflicting East & South Germany.

The teams include legends like Didier Drogba, Andrey Shevchenko, Didi Hamann, and Jens Lehmann, as well as reigning Champions League winner Philipp Lahm, rising star André Schürrle (targeted by Chelsea), and 7-times Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher.

Why would he not be our #1 striking option?

Ba, Dzeko, Torres and Lukkaku would be a good front 4 and not cost us £53m that cavani/ falcao would.

With Falcao going to monaco (?) at least this means that we keep courtois!

Mourinho managing Shevchenko?

Because he looks hopeless when he starts. No way I'd pick him over the 3 we already have, including Torres.

Man City wouldn't sell to us anyway, not without wanting Luiz as part of the deal.

That's really made my day.

Sneijder was a great player when he was in the mood, which wasn't very often. Other times he could be one of the laziest players I've seen.

Dzeko is just a poundstretcher version of Cavani, I would actually prefer Torres at 60/70% of the player he once was. He couldn't command a regular place in the Man City team for a good reason, his all-round play just wasn't good enough. If we pay something like £25m for him City will be laughing, they can just add another £30m and snap up the real thing with Cavani.

I see we are also linked with the highly rated Stevan Jovetic at Fiorentina. If we can't get Cavani, that's a much better option in my opinion. He's only 23, he can play as the main frontman or behind the striker. Arsenal are interested, so that means we won't be involved in much of a bidding war.

Also hear we are interested in De Rossi from Roma ? He was a very good player, but he's just finished his worst season ever. At 29 he's not one for the future, is Roman tightening the purse strings ?

Jovetic sounds like Schurrle.

De Rossi wouldn't be cheap. Big wages, too. He, Dzeko and Sneijder don't sound likely to me.

Yes, there are similarities between Jovetic and Schurrie, Jovetic appears to be more of a genuine striker though.

Transfer-wise they are not talking about much money for De Rossi (£10m tops ? )..which I suppose is the attraction. But the wages would be considerable, as you say.

I hope you're right and it's all paper-talk.

I just hope the rumours of Luiz being sold arent true, we need to keep a hold of him IMO. I dont believe the Sneijder rumour for a second, no room for him our team. Dzeko is an interesting one, i wouldnt mind him as a cut price alternative to Cavani, if it was like £15m, but no more. To be honest better off just starting Lukaku than Dzeko though.

I wouldn't mind seeing Dzeko come to the Bridge. He's a decent enough striker, and would cost half of what Cavani would be.

It's obvious he's not a major part of City's plans. He's already behind Aguero and Tevez in the striking order, and if they're serious about getting Cavani, they certainly wouldn't mind some extra transfer funds, a load off the wage bill and more room on the team for other players they would be interested in.

Also wouldn't mind Jovetic. He's shown some great talent at Fiorentina and it's clear he should be available for again, half of what Cavani would be.

It appears from reports that Jose does want to keep Lukaku at the Bridge next season, so with him, Ba and Torres (if they're staying at the club) along with Schurrle, a Dzeko or a Jovetic would fit in quite nicely as an additional striking option.

Also not convinced about this Luiz leaving the club story. Jose knows what sort of talent he is. He isn't just going to sell him to another club, and we don't need to sell players. He should definitely still be at the club.

I laughed:

Quote:
“BREAKING: Chelsea have sacked manager Jose Mourinho, after failing to win a trophy in his first 24 hours.”

As for players.. I know no one else wants this, but I'd love to see Drogba come back to Chelsea. I loved that guy. Yes he was a drama queen at times but he was brilliant.

Dzeko? No thanks. Would sooner stick with Torres.

Jovetic i've quite liked since he tore Liverpool a new one in the CL back in 2009. Not the most prolific of strikers though, but could be a decent signing at the right price.

Jackson Martinez is who we should try to sign, if we can't get Cavani. The guy has been prolific for Porto, much like a certain other Colombian before him.

£7m for John Terry? The other day it was £30m for Ivanovic.

Media are having fun with Monaco right now

Romeu is back playing again. Probably missed his shot with us, but I still rate him after his AVB-form.

Indeed. I'd much rather we sold Mikel, and kept Romeu around a bit longer. Mikel's never going to be much better than he is now, which isn't particularly good as it is.

As for JT, I wouldn't be adverse to the idea of moving him on this summer.

The £7m was just his annual salary, apparently (after tax)

£7m is the speculated transfer fee, with £150k a week tax-free wages.

City are quietly going about strengthening their squad. Isco and Jesus Navas should put the desire back in their midfield as Silva and Nasri coasted most of last season. If they get Cavani, they'll arguably have the best squad.
I think JT like Frank realises he's coming to the end of his career as he's had loads of injuries last season, but I'd like him to stay. Cahill/Ivanovic as first choice CB pairing doesn't fill me with confidence but is slightly less frightening than Luiz/Ivanovic. I hope a solid, imposing CB is in Jose's plans

I like this Mourinho message. We've been absolute shit in the league for too long with players getting away with many lacklustre performances. Mourinho won't tolerate it and, unlike other managers we've had lately, won't be afraid to call the players out on it.

>> The priority is to improve because in the last two years we have struggled in the league. If Chelsea didn’t win the Champions League then the club wouldn’t have been in the competition this year. And this year we had to fight until the last match to qualify. So we have to improve the team.

But when I say improve, people are already thinking about how many millions Chelsea will spend. I mean through work. My work here has to improve players and improve the team. If I don’t do that I am not happy with myself. If after that we can improve the team by buying a couple of players it is fantastic but I have to improve the team with my work. Work hard, work professionally and make the team better. We must improve individually, collectively and improve the structure of the club around the team — and try to win the next match.

Because I know that victory makes miracles — when you win you are never tired. Happiness is much stronger than tiredness.<<
