Ba starts thank god for that! I also think Luiz should have been given a rest, hes played some amount of games recently. Resting Mata would have made sense too.

Hoping Ba can score a couple on his debut!

Something I read the other day. He said he'd be prioritising the league and giving a few players the day off. 2 of the players he listed are injured anyway, so I might have misunderstood?

The team has been released and it is definitely a slightly weaker team so I guess you were right

Welcome back

If he doesn't score today I fully expect www.hasdembabascoredforchelseayet.com to be up by 5pm.

He fits right in, Mata and Hazard always seem able to find him.

Indeed. It's great to see.

Now lets hope Frank can get the goal he needs today.

Could well have had a hat trick there if it wasnt for a good save. Looking like a bargain at £7m,

Lukaku started for West Brom today, so he'd be cup-tied now.

Not that I was expecting a recall.

Anybody who has seen me posting on here before know I am a rare breed that is a Newcastle fan with a soft spot for Chelsea. Therefore this week has been a real mixed bag for me and we could have really have done with Ba's two goals today. But he has gone and I am glad he has got off to a good start and hope he scores lots for u except when ur playing against "the wee club from the northeast".

As a Saints fan well done today we gave it a go for 30 minutes then for some reason our players just said "ah **** it" at half time and just stopped. Ba looks like a bargain.

That's how you see it, I see it as you being a bit of a fool but there you go.

Ok then please tell me how he is a Liverpool reject exactly? Or is that judged on a pair of clowns who nearly took the club down the swanny sacking him?

I don't think I really need to explain the reasons why I think he's improved yo defensively. I actually believe a fair few fans on this thread already agree with that aspect of what he's brought.

As for lucky to be given the honour to sit in your dugout LOL, every Tom, Dick & Harry either has or will have that honour.

More "wonderful" behaviour by some of your supporters today again. I mean if a 1-5 win can't keep the idiots off Rafa's back.

I just noticed that BBC ain't showing the Capital One Cup Semi final's or Final this year. Screw you BBC. They have ditched so many sporting events that i watch in the last year. It seems like all their funding for Sports went into the Olympics. Yeah that's good, ditch a whole yearly load of Sports for a 1 month event.

Tennis
Formula 1
Championship matches
Capital One Cup

I bet there is more as well.

Demba Ba'rgain, what a debut! Torres really does need to step up his game now.

Just watched the FA cup highlights. They didn't show enough of our game to make any real judgements, but it was great to see we now have a striker who appears to be hungry for goals.
As Peter Reid Said afterwards, Demba Ba showed he was willing to "go in where it hurts"..something we haven't seen from Torres for a long time, perhaps never seen during his spell with us ?

Sad to see the Lampard interview, but at least we will have the opportunity for a "long goodbye" and he can make a dignified exit. It was telling that when asked about Lampard, Benitez only spoke about "the rest of the season", so there doesn't appear to be any sign of a change of heart from RA or his advisors.

I don't think he will. For a striker, Torres doesn't half shy away from stealing the headlines. He's too mentally weak to ever return to any kind of real form.

Totally agree. I don't have much, if any love for Nando now anyway. Hope Demba becomes our no1 striker now, i just don't see it happening unfortunetly, Roman loves his pet and Rafa will always favour him!

Just as likely that Ba will cause Torres to sulk again. He's one of those "I get no love from my teammates/fans/players/ownership" type primadonnas that is rather common these days in modern football.
