I think that's true of the way we treat all players, and managers. To be fair, we pay top wages. But it's all strictly business after that. Maybe Shevchenko was different, but he was a personal friend of Abramovich.

Lets face it, there is no loyalty anywhere. Even badge kissing mr united handed in a transfer request. Loyalty is a fan thing, but you could argue that it is a marketing scam as football is now basically a business.

He said he wouldn't sign a new contract. He didn't ask for a transfer. A week later he signed the same contract he was initially offered. No wage rise, no "holding the club to ransom", he signed THE SAME contract. |

Yeah very true. Its fine as long as people are aware of it. Lets not prevent that there is loyalty in either direction. To be fair, you haven't.
Back to the football, we seem to be squandering chance after chance. Usually means they will score one on the break. ![]() Better 2nd half though. |

Yes, but in all fairness we are generous when releasing players. I'm always surprised that we don't even seem to try to get a couple of million for decent players.

When you say you are not signing a new contract, and you are a £50m player - you are effectively putting yourself up for sale, do you agree?
He wasn't up for sale. He questioned the clubs ambition and then signed the contract he was offered in the first place within a week. |

It's looks like their equivalent of us winning the CL.
They are certainly the better team though and deserve to be in front. |

Its been an odd game. CFC are not playing smoothly, and Corrinthians can't hit a barn door. They just seem to want it more.
Taking 20,000 fans to japan is incredible though. |

Been a terrible game, our players look tired and not too bothered. Shame really, would have been nice to be champions of the world. Corinthians are giving it everything.

Terrible game really for what should be the show piece. Not much media attention in the UK and europe, its a shame really as the brazilians clearly take it seriously.

Chelsea just didn't play well enough.
Seems to mean more to them which is a bit of a shame. |
