Torres for Falcao ? Never mind losing sleep, I'd buy everyone here a drink if we managed that. Just the one mind, and not a large malt.

I have my fingers crossed for de Bruyne and Lukaku to be recalled. No sales, no signings from outside the Premiership. Save any major changes for the summer.

If we do go for another striker (after selling Sturridge or not recalling anyone) we should try for Demba Ba. Can score all types of goals, has scored regularly since coming over here, and has a release clause in his contract, so no pissing around negotiating a transfer fee. A nice, simple goalscorer to do what we can't rely on ****** to do regularly.

A CM from Luiz / Ramires / de Bruyne / Mikel / Lampard will see us through until the end of the season. (except, the Luiz experiments will likely be over after the Leeds game, which sucks quite a bit)

You also can't get him insured or get him to pass a medical.

We are 2/1 favourites to sign Theo Walcott in January. Can't see the point myself, he may consider himself a striker, but nobody else seems to agree. He would just duplicate what we have already and become another expensive bench-warmer.
Incidentally, Man Utd are 3/1 to sign Theo..same thing really, do they need him ?

I agree, we already have better players in that position.

We could use him more than you guys could. You have an incredible amount of talent in the "not quite a striker" role, you have no need for him.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but there's a rumour doing the rounds that Klopp is having talks to take over from Benitez.

Surely Roman won't sack 2 managers in one season.

Nani is about as popular as a fart in a spacesuit. Rooney isn't a winger. Valencia hasn't been himself all season and Young gets pelters every week.

Id take Walcott, but i don't see it happening TBH.

Yes, he's second favourite in the betting behind Pep Guardiola to take over in the summer. I would still prefer Mourinho to either of them to be honest. Let the other two go to the Manchester clubs.

Atletico Madrid and all their fans would lose a lot of sleep over a deal like that.

I rate Klopp very highly indeed, and would love him to succeed Sir Alex, (and also bring Gotze and Reus with him as well ), so I would be a bit deflated if he joined you.

But this summer could very well be a very interesting time for managerial changes, as there are a number of high profile clubs that may want to change their manager.

Corinthians did stifle the game cleverly, but we appeared to lack the determination or conviction to counteract that.”

This. ^^ I have no complaints.

Did feel for David Luiz, he was in tears after the game, this clup means a lot to the Brazilians, he desperately wanted to win it. Good to see some passion.

Support Rafa Benitez they said...
He's a great tactician they said...

This man has absolutely no place in our club. Why didn't he sub Moses off sooner? He was having an awful game out on the wings yesterday. Oscar should have started. Also, why did he sub Azpi on for Ivan with less than 10 minutes till the end?

One last point, how did Cahill get that red card? The referee was a joke yesterday, the Corinthian players were flopping all over the pitch like dying fish yet none got punished.

Why is Cahill suspended for the COC game when he was sent off in a European-type game?

Means Luiz will have to play CB now

Rumours going around that Oscar openly criticised Benitez to a Brazilian journalist for not starting him on Sunday. Sounds like the Brazilian players really took the defeat badly, even the 1 who never stood a chance of playing.

I don't really blame Oscar, Benitez on his own website says..

'We knew they had some problems in wide areas behind their full-backs, so we wanted to play somebody with pace and the ability to create something.'

That must really make Oscar feel better, his manager apparently doubts his pace and creativity. Oscar hasn't featured as much under Benitez as he did previously he's obviously upset. The other Brazilians in the squad are equally angry over Chelsea's lack of commitment in the game, they claim Benitez didn't take it seriously.
How much damage Benitez can do before the end of the season is anyone's guess, but it doesn't look promising.

Just out of interest, how many managers have their own website ? I had a look, full of glowing praise and testimonials from Liverpool players, and thoughts from the great man himself. What a conceited twonk !

If it resulted in getting rid of Rafa by Xmas, then i'd take defeats against Leeds and Villa.
No true fan should ever want to see their team lose, but that's the way i feel atm.

Rumours are that weve agreed to sell Sturridge to Liverpool for £14m in January. Dunno how true but if it does happen, surely we have to be buying another striker or two? Only Torres is just suicidal.

It's a good move for him, and he should be a good "fit" for Liverpool. As you say, we must be going for a striker in the January window.

One rumour does worry me..its that we might go for Higuain from Real Madrid. Apart from the fact that I don't think he would be a success in the PL, it would also make it more likely that Real would be even more determined to sign Falcao. Giving them a large chunk of money for a seemingly out of favour striker would be playing right into their hands.

But in our favour, it's unlikely that he would leave Atletico to join Real. That would be like moving from Spurs to Arsenal x10.
In fact, there are a couple of sites (not very reliable ones I'm afraid) reporting that the Falcao to Chelsea move is now a "done deal".

But his header would have gone in but for a brilliant save (Moses)

Not overly confident for tonight's game. TBH wasn't when the draw was made! Long history with this club, away fixture, and on the back of losing the CWC final and only being back yesterday.....not confident.

Saying that though, even with all of that, with the quality we have...if...and I say if....we show enough passion....we should win.
