Well its good that we are discussing which signing is better

Apzi, oscar, Hazard, marin and moses (and Ba).

Despite who's in charge it's good to know that we have such great young players in the team right now.

Hopefully next season we can bring someone in who can turn these players into consistent world beaters.

Thats all we are needing. Rafa is clearly not up to it. Im still not sure if i want to join the Jose bandwagon just yet. And yes, i can see that he could be great for us.

But he could also be terrible for us

I haven't been following the U21's this season, but I was going to say that surely we're at the point where we should start trying to blood our young strikers from the bench where possible.

In Europe we're completely stuck with Torres. We signed a striker who's ineligible to play in it and even loaned out Piazon. Madness!

It would be good to see Feruz start at the weekend if Ba is still unavailable, but even a sub appearance would be helpful. With Mata, Hazard, Oscar and Moses behind him I think any striker would score goals, the trouble with us is that our striker isn't playing like one, so we certainly couldn't be any worse for giving someone else a shot.

It really is terrible that Ba got kicked in the face which will put him out for 2 or 3 weeks. It is exactly what we didnt need, as he had started pretty well.

I thought he was fit and had to play with a mask ?

He can, but he will not be right for a period.

He would have played tonight if he wasn't cup tied.

Maybe. He still has the problem of not being a £50m blonde Spaniard......

We got the result needed, Yes was not pretty but looking at the other Prem teams results we did really well. Now we need another result at the weekend, Put out another strong team hopefully

Dull, boring, lacklustre display. But we won and kept a clean sheet. That'll do me.

That sort of performance is exactly what we have been lacking in the league.

He would never be a good fit, and the money he would want!

We need a striker, not Hulk. We need a Cavani or Falcao, and some steel in midfield

Still my wishlist:

Falcao
Fellaini
<any tough tackling midfielder>

Good goal from Hulk last night, but he's overrated, definitely not worth the money when we've already got better.

Fellaini's a good player but i don't really see where he would fit into our side?

This is my summer wish list:

Striker (hopefully two)
Tough tacking defensive midfielder
Centre-back
Back-up goalkeeper

Fellaini can play up to too, so there are your two strikers and a bit of menace in midfield.

We need a new "Mr Chelsea" to dominate the midfield, we need a keane, vieira, essien.

It is a real real shame we let alex go.

And yes, our stand in keepers are pretty terrible.

I don't think there would be any problem finding a place for Fellaini. The players most likely to lose out would be Ramires and/or Lampard. I can see Fellaini becoming Chelsea's Yaya Toure, a powerful midfield presence who is also dangerous in the last third. But the guy is so versatile, he could (if needed) provide cover practically everywhere.
The only problem I see is that he still wouldn't be the answer to our lack of a quality holding player..unless Mikel or Romeu can make the step up in class.

If we bring Lukaku back, a world class striker along with Demba Ba should be enough. A part exchange deal with Torres should suit all parties concerned.
I still can't see why we can't bring back Courtois to share the keepers role with Cech..other clubs have done it in the past.
In a year or so, Courtois is going to be one of the best in the world, and I'm afraid we may lose out if we don't get him firmly established as a Chelsea player.

It is impossible to have two world class keepers at the same club.

Would you get rid of cech for courtois?

Lujaku is not ready for us yet, He not even a starter in the West Brom side yet, Yes he very different to anything we have and be a great player to have on the bench, But that will only make him go backwards as a player and leave in a season or so, Its much better to keep him on loan at the moment. He enjoying where he is, Learning lots and from a manager i trust to look after him. I can see him really coming into his own and becoming a truely great player in 3-4 years, Thats when we need him.

Coutois wants to play week in week out and as a goalkeeper he needs to, Cech is still in very good form and with so few senior players around at the moment and more then likely have less next season we still need him as a number 1, Again he doing well where he is, Enjoying his game etc, Lets leave him where he is, Yes it more of a risk as we have little in terms of back up in that dept but would rather us get a decent keeper to sit on the bench then a world class keeper to sit on the bench and see him walk away

I'd like to add an #1 CB to the shopping list, please. Terry is getting on and his injuries are catching up with him, so it's time to find a replacement. Ivanovic and Cahill are good 2nd/3rd choice, but neither are rock solid enough to take over from the legend.

I honestly don't see why not. You wouldn't think twice about it if they were two outfield players. We play so many games, they would each be guaranteed 25/30 appearances. Besides, Cech appears to be suffering from more injuries, as time goes on he will need to be rested more often.
Petr Cech is still only 30, he could have another 5+ years in front of him, if keepers look after themselves they seem to go on forever. Can we keep Courtois interested for that long ? He has already admitted that he is uncertain about his future. I just don't want to lose him to one of the Spanish giants, or see him used as a makewieght in a transfer deal for Falcao..which has already been suggested.

We have a really good keeper now, and will probably be at the same level for the next 5 years.

We have a very very good prospect, who needs to play first team football week in week out (and not be benched).

Would i use courtois as a makeweight for Falcao?

Yes

We are short of a striker who can score, just think where we would have been if we had a RVP or Falcao instead of Torres this season!
