Anyone else looking forward to Real Racing 3? Anyone heard any rumoured release dates? Looks great from the screenshots they have released http://www.ea.com/uk/real-racing-3-i...-racing-3-cars

Surely this can't be right? $100 for a virtual car?

Won't even download if that's what they think of us.

PGR review.

Bottom line quote:

technically the best mobile racing simulation thats unfortunately ruined by the poor implementation of the F2P business model

Another franchise ruined by EA.

Sadly though some players will still pay out, whatever the cost. The only way to stop this is not to get it, I for one won't despite looking forward to it.

Well it's free last one cost 4.99.

Sadly for me it's lost it's edge. Graphics and game play are glossy but don't match the game play of Real Racing 2. Seemingly it's free as theres lots of add ons to buy?

Before the Need for Speed games lagged on graphics but Most Wanted is console quality with much better graphics.

You don't need to buy add-ons, or spend money on anything... So long as you're patient enough to wait for the realtime repairs/upgrades and so long as you don't mind the grind.

I like it so far, in small doses (which, given it's a mobile game, is fine).

Well, I'm still playing this and still enjoying it and have not spent a single penny of real money.

I've put a couple of hours or more into it according to the game, and have only completed around 25% of the events in the first series.

I've got one car, which I fully upgraded last night. Now that it's had all the upgrades, I can save my earnings for a new car to let me enter one of the other series.

Repairs are cheap and instant, while upgrades cost more and take a few minutes or more.

In-game money is easy to earn, and you get a decent amount of money even if you don't win an event (although of course you get more if you win).

I really think that people should give this a go, instead of boycotting it because it's now from EA or because EA want you to spend lots of real money.

You don't have to spend a thing.

No need to use real money to buy a new car.

No need to use real money to pay for upgrades.

No need to use real money to pay for repairs.

I agree Matt. I've only just installed this on Android yesterday, and am loving it. I've fully upgraded my Focus and half upgraded my Nissan which i got to enter a couple other events.

You get more money if you beat positions your facebook friends achieved as well.

Yup, I'm still loving this. Also realised that I've barely scratched the surface - I hadn't completed around 25% of the events in the first series, it was 25% of the events in one group in one series. I think it was only around 1% of the actual total events in the game! I'm on around 40% of the first events in the first group in the first series now.

I like how you get notifications when someone beats your times (I like the feature - I don't like being beaten! ). I had a few this afternoon telling me my brother had beaten me in a couple of cups etc.

I've also been going back to races I originally did early on and re-doing them with my upgraded car to get more money, and to try and beat the TSM times of my friends.

downloaded it for my kindle fire, enjoying it so far but some of the endurance races seem impossible, in one of them 1st is 31 miles whereas 2nd was 12 miles.

I am sure you've read that incorrectly. I bet its 3.1 miles and 1.2 miles.

But any how, when you get a new car this becomes really easy.

Forgive the noobie questions, I have only just started playing. When you race someone that isn't live is it? It is their recorded scored isn't it? What happens if you loose and retry the same race with the same person? Thanks.

Gameplay and graphics and 10/10 for me. Yes the IAP are annoying but you don't need them to enjoy and win. I think they could have easily charged 5 and have IAP. I am guessing the adverts around the track and the car manufacturers are helping the bank account right?

No it wasn't live but I believe the latest version of the game (2.0) introduces Real-time multiplayer so I guess it must be live now.

i've started getting in to this.

i can see how the servicing times will get longer and progress will be slow.

I started to enjoy this game when I first played it but it when you progress everything takes so long to do that you're waiting forever for your car to be serviced or be upgraded. It can even take hours to "deliver" a car when you buy it which is ridiculous.

As you progress you'll find you have to constantly play the game to be able to proceed because your cars will require all of the upgrades to progress through some races.

I give up on that because RR3 really does waste my battery and I don't want to keep charging my phone all the time.
