Suggests that Victorian Principal is to return to Dallas as a tribute to Larry Hagman.

For those who don't know, Principal played Pamela Ewing, Bobby's first wife in the show until her dodgy exit from the series in 1987 which saw her disappear after an accident only to be found a year later (and played by a different actress) and claiming she only had a short time to live and wanted to stay away from Dallas.

Since then, Principal stayed away from the series, refusing to appear in the last season in 1991 or the subsequent reunion films in 1996 and 1998. She did appear in the 2004 retrospective special 'Return to Southfork' but that was her last association with the show since then.

Two days after the article was published, the Dallas TNT website confirmed that two former characters will return to the show for JR's funeral who are yet to appear in the TNT series.

gary and val ewing are coming back anyway.most likely them.from what i've read,nobody involved with the show wants victoria principle back.

Gary and Val were due back anyway this season so I'd say it will be them who are the two past characters who have yet to appear on the TNT series. Bobby, Sue Ellen, Cliff, Ray and Lucy are all originals who have appeared so far and realistically, Pam, Jenna and Donna would be the only other originals they could bring back without viewers wondering "who are they again?" like they probably would with the likes of Michelle Stevens or Cally from later seasons.

I know it's Dallas but Pam coming back for JR's funeral would be stretching things a bit far in terms of storyline credibility. She spent years away from her brother Cliff, her true love Bobby and her son Christopher yet now she's back for the funeral of a man she hated? Unless of course they explain that JR was holding something over her in order to keep her away from Dallas but now that he's dead she feels safe to return?

the last point that pam was seen in dallas, cliff went to find her to be told by pam that she would not come back on cliff leaving the doctor asked her if she was sure with pam saying that she could not put bobby christopher and ciff through the fact that she was dying and had 6 months to live, so going by that pam is dead

I thought Bobby mentioned in the new series, though, that they hadn't heard from her in years, so they must think she's still alive. Anyway, lets hope both she and Val don't look too shocking with all the plastic surgery they've had.

Possibly Susan Howard. Sadly not Priscilla Presley as she is in London doing Pantomime.

It's not that the people in the new series don't want her, they were reluctant to ask her because they thought she would say no.

I would think that the four returning are Gary and Val - and that they may have lured back Susan Howard and Steve Kanaly(Donna and Ray)

Which gives them a ready made storyline - of reuniting Donna and Ray

I didn't think her acting was that bad on the original. She's not the best actress but not awful either. Without meaning to sound too shallow, Priscilla has kind of wrecked her appearance with the amount of plastic surgery she's had done. I don't know how seriously people could take her with her looking as she does. The same goes for Joan Van Ark. If Jenna was to return, I'd love to see Morgan Fairchild (the first of three actresses to play Jenna) return. I'm sure she's had work done too but still looks quite natural and I love her.

Speaking of Jenna, Bobby fathered a son Lucas with her before she left Dallas in 1988. I wonder will this second son make a reappearance at some point to claim his chunk of the Ewing fortune?

My memory is (and I may be wrong - I didn't catch the recent repeat of that particular episode on CBS Drama) that when Cliff returned to Dallas he either told Bobby that he hadn't found Pam or that it had been a case of mistaken identity and so the Ewings would go on thinking Pam was out there somewhere living her life and coming to terms with the injuries/burns she sustained in the car accident - little knowing that in the space of a year she had almost no visible tissue damage from what would presumably have been horrific and permanent burns!

I'm loving the reboot and Victoria is returning. Now, I have one wish and only for selfish and shallow reasons! Can I have Sasha Mitchell back? By gosh he was hot! James Beaumont was JR's son! I can dream! (I'll even settle for a return from Cathy Podewell (Cally!) JR's wife! Grew up wanting to be her!)

Am I excited for season 2? YES!

If Victoria is returning then the other returnee must be Susan Howard - and it would be viable as she was JR's sister in law. I imagine Steve, Charlene would also return- but they have already made appearances, and from the sound of jw2011 last post it is someone who has yet to re-appear

Steph, you should write the storylines for it. That would be a great storyline. They reunite Donna with Ray, Sue Ellen stands aside after bribing the coroner to clear John Ross and Donna is the one who is asked to run for Governor

You just wrote that storyline yourself! I'm a journo - not a scriptwriter - It is what I would do! (as a fan) Susan's reason for leaving the show was the entire 'dream season' She did have the biggest story in that season - AND TO BE MADE A DREAM! I get that - Same reason Knots Landing cut all ties.....Lets see what happen's - Merry Christmas

Wasn't the reason another actress played Pammie, that she'd been in an accident and had plastic surgery? If so, (and my memory may be playing tricks on me) how can they bring back VP? If they'd been able to fix her face, she'd have looked the same in the first place. I'll be glad to see Gary (Ted Shackleford) back, I loved him in Knots Landing, but Joan Van Ark is/has been in one of the daily soaps Young and Restless????? and doesn't look like her old self at all these days!!!!!
