This is my first touchscreen smartphone having had Sony Ericsson phones with alphanumeric buttons prior to this. I've had it nearly 3 months now and i'm still really struggling to write on it. I'm making so many typos and doing things like hitting the full stop instead of the spacebar and I'm finding myself forever going back which in itself isn't easy to do (placing the cursor in just the right position) to correct constant typos and gobbledegook. I thought I'd get used to it but I'm really struggling. I've even tried downloading another keyboard but it's no better. I could type faster and more accurately on my old phone than this piece of crap. I find I'm spending more time going back to correct errors and typing anything seems to be taking 5 times as long.

Try Swiftkey 3 trial from the Play Store it's a hell of a lot better and gets things corrected automatically right 99% of the time.

Well I'm not sure how it could know what you meant to write when you type the words by and my or so and do for example. The letters are so close together on a QWERTY keyboard that I'm really struggling to hitbthe tight keys. I mean hitbthe.... No there it goes again. Try again...Hit the right keys. See what I mean/?

SwiftKey detects where you make the errors and corrects it. It can take a while to 'learn' your style but it does its job very well.

You may need to go into its settings and tweak it a little but as a bare minimum, allow it to learn from your text messages, gmail and facebook if you use them.

You will be pleasantly suprised on how accurate it becomes after a little while.

They also have SwiftKey Flow now, its in beta so not available to everyone, but you type by moving your finger over the screen, you dont have to lift your finger (not even for spaces). Works well too. Will be out for final release in the new year.

Well that's an option which I'm seriously considering. I'm using the T9 predictive text now for the first time thanks to your suggestion and while I think it will take time to get back into using it again I do think it's far quicker and more accurate.

I'm using a keyboard app called Smart Keyboard Pro which is supposed to be one of the best ones on the market. Hey I'm actually quite liking the T9 but it won't work in landscape mode.

Smart Keyboard Pro is crap. Swiftkey is much better and more accurate and you can increase the key size a bit.

I'd 2nd SwiftKey as well.

It's amazing how it works out what you were men) t to be typing and don't even have to put spaces in if you don't want to (it works out where they are me ment to go).

Also it analysis your previous messages (or Facebook or EMAIL) to what combination of words you use together and sometimes it works out 7 or 8 words in a row of what you were going to type so you just have to touch the word and not even type it.

They sometimes have it on offer on the Play store (was £1.50 a few days ago.

Ha Ha I did think that myself. I like the skins feature of Smart keyboard and the vibrate keys feature but will give swift a try. Thanks. Currently using T9 on Smart and it's much better but a little slow. I text really fast and it sometimes can't keep up compared to the old physical buttons.
