You've changed your tune haven't you? Was only last week on this very thread you were sounding all high and mighty regarding BT and their contracts! You'll find the posts if you back a few pages...

A stand-out from you being "Lock in? Where?"... seems you found it.

I registered on this forum to exchange views, help and information. And I find your constant pops at me unsettling, unbalanced and unfathomable.

Perhaps that's because of the continual manner in which you try and knock people down with your own views. You had the cheek earlier on in this thread to effectively slate my own views over contractual periods etc and pass it off as nonsensical, you respond with what can only be described as downright arrogant posts, and then once pulled up over it you pull the victim card. Sorry, but that's ridiculous and I'm not playing.

Currently yes. I imagine the price lists will be revised once the additional YouView functionality is added. Initially, it's just people with a Vision+ box that will be receiving the extra linear channels and sports. Best thing to do if you're wanting to go down the BT route is just wait until next year. I'd imagine everything will be ready by June / July with regards to YouView.

The new live channels haven't launched yet on BT. They will first launch on Vision, within the next few weeks and then launch on YouView in the summer of next year. Which is expected to be July.

As expected but be careful about quoting dates or even facts etc otherwise a certain poster will try and do you for it

Hm, as always webber, you are succinct and to the point.

But all joking aside, July is a key date for BT Vision launching these new services. And if they miss it, it would be an absolute disaster.

BT currently only have the Freeview versions of Sky Sports 1&2, which are only available on the old BT Vision boxes.

However. YouView on Talktalk has all the Sky Sports channels including F1 and ESPN over IPTV.

At this moment in time we do not know if BT YouView will get any Sky Sports channels.

Hi, derek500,

There is no such thing as BT YouView. Sorry, I'm not being pedantic, just accurate. There is YouView retail, YouView from TalkTalk and YouView from BT.

The Freeview Sky Sports channels are expected to cease in 2013. Hence why BT will no longer take new SS orders from users living in non-Infinity enabled areas.

And there are many articles and interviews on the internet discussing the up-coming streamed Sky and BT Sports channels.

Oh, and the BT Vision boxes are soon to be no more, for new customers, as BT fully switches to YouView. The same as TalkTalk have done.

Where is your source for this? According to the help pages on the new BT Vision software BT are working on a new Vision + box which will be able to receive HD channels.

That's the now-released YouView box. In broader terms it is a Vision box but because YouView dragged on for so long and the box was released without the ability to stream live channels through the EPG, BT has had to confusingly market the two systems side-by-side.

Hi montycat,

It's as stated here -

"Some time in the middle of next year we believe that YouView will be able to deliver what we need to multicast channels via our Infinity network and at that point all new customers will be getting a YouView box,"

Happy new year one all all.

Now I did some digging on Google earlier, and came across this Now TV article from July 2012. Which is a one-on-one interview with Now TV's Director Simon Creasy, at the launch of the service, about the future. And they do talk about the absence HD, too -

And the article on 'How Netflix works' is also a fascinating read -

Good find. Incidentally the AWS in Ireland that Netflix uses is short for Amazon Web Services, sister company to LOVEFiLM. It's a small world
