Can you blame them though? A film about giant robots twatting things, only this time giant monsters instead of each other? There is a vague resemblance...

Now, that footage. I'm as big a fan of big dumb fun as the next guy, but PR isn't really doing anything for me so far. Too many murky night shots, which diffuse the action. And those pilots performing the actions which the robots follow is all a bit nintendo, and a bit wanky-nerdy.

But perhaps I'm wrong. We'll see.
that stuff will look awful in 3D .

I have to say that i agree with this if i'm totally honest, i'll go and see it but the trailers and posters that the geek community seem to be going gaga over have left me cold (the CinemaCon footage was better than the previous trailers though, but still not enough to wow me). I can honestly see this being one of this summers high profile box office bombs because i just cant see it appealing to the masses, most will probably just write it off as a Transformers clone.
