Films you're "supposed to have seen"
I'm in no way a film buff but when I do watch a film it's usually a comedy/feel-good film. Because of this, and because I' don't watch many films in general, there are certain film and series of films that I've never seen, although when I tell people they look at me like I've just thrown a turd in their face.
Here's some of my list: Any James bond Film Any 'Godfather' film The Bourne _____ (insert word here) The Avengers (Everyone was rattling on about this earlier this year) Titanic The Matrix Lord of the Rings or any similar Star Wars (Except the Phantom Menace) I'm sure there are loads more. So, what films have you not seen, and have no intention of seeing, despite the fact apparently it makes you odd? |

LOL - I would have to agree with you about people's reactions to the films you have listed - my response to them is:
Any James bond Film - crap Any 'Godfather' film - crap The Bourne _____ (insert word here) - crap The Avengers (Everyone was rattling on about this earlier this year) ![]() Titanic - ultra crap The Matrix - mindnumbingly crap Lord of the Rings or any similar - can't be bothered watching it Star Wars (Except the Phantom Menace) - crap One I was once showed a face of incredulity over was Transformers - I'm a 54 year old woman, why the hell would I watch Transformers ![]() I think some people fall for hype more than others do ![]() Then again, if people tell me they haven't watched Paranormal Activity, I become one of them

In fact, I'm going to add another seriously over-hyped film: Silence of the Lambs - nearly fell asleep during that one and wish I hadn't bothered and only went to see it because my mom didn't want to go on her own

I don't have a great track record of staying awake during movies, even if I go to the cinema to see them
![]() I've never seen ET or Elf which seem to be standard requirements for being a human being. |

I've not seen any of the Lord of the Rings films. Or the Harry Potters. Both times - film and book - I lasted about 10 minutes before I wanted to slit my wrists. And despair at the the people I see around me
![]() I'll see them eventually though. I'm a big fan of consuming crap as well as high culture. I never saw ET till about 15 years after it was released. |

What a refreshing opinion. I often feel the same. I wish there were the opposite of extrended versions - what would they be called? Truncated versions, synopsis version? - where you could just watch the bare bones of a film for those with a short attention span. Surely any story can be told within an hour ...

Yep, that's another one I've never seen. One person, when trying to convince me how good it is and what I've been missing, said that they even wear earphones so they can listen to a CD telling the story whilst they're at work! and he's 35 <shaking head>

Never watched any of the Bourne films. And the Exorcist...saw about 20-30 minutes and was bored shitless and turned it off.
Star Wars I've only watched by osmosis. You can't help taking bits in if the kids are watching though I wouldn't say I've actually watched any of them...same for the Matrix films. |

Films do seem to be getting longer, too, much longer than my bladder can hold out. No film needs to be 3 hours long, it's ridiculous.

I've seen the first 3 or 4 Harry Potters, they are waaaay over rated. I've always found myself bored trying to watch them.
My Inlaws keep trying to tell me how brilliant Avatar is and that I should watch it but the trailer looked dull to me and so not my thing. Also haven't seen any of the Bourne movies, Starwars, Matrix, Godfather, Rocky.... |

None of the James Bond films.
None of The Godfathers. No Rockys I think I've done a pretty good job of seeing films you've meant to of seen now. I hadn't seen lots of things but in the past 12 months I've got myself up to speed and I'm down with the kids as well as the oldies
