Oh it's bloody soapland for you.

I can't wait for Ste storming off now, he looks so determined in the promo. Brendan is going to have CRAWL and much as I love him, he needs to and stop being so silly. Ste has turned up in Dublin for you man, go get him!

Sorry

I don't really feel like I'm watching John Paul so I don't know how I feel yet.

No Joelesa tonight either, and the Dexas stuff maybe got moved up. The spoilers just weren't entirely accurate.
And Brendan had showered right? So what was JP still doing there? OMG ”

I don't know why but I got the impression that some stuff was cut tonight (and some of it - like the last scene of Ste walking into Brendan's room) was moved up to this ep because they probably realised they didn't have enough time for all the Stendan stuff. It makes me happy 'cause it means we're gonna get lots of Stendan tomorrow

No chance Doug.

Me too. He's in for a disappointment if he thinks that
(I'm pretty sure he'll be back stronger than ever, though )

Random: So does the fact that Doug was apparently the one to deal with putting the deli up for sale put paid to the "I signed it over to you and you alone" Ste-sole ownership thing?

Really really was not expecting the whole 'Surprise!' thing. I was quite shocked. I really thought they'd have Ste being all tentative at the door and Brendan all 'Stephen?!' and Ste being like 'Look I think we need ter talk, can I come in?' or a 'look I've been thinking and ya know why can't we just be together?!' and then seeing JP in the bed behind the door and then storming off. I thought his entrance would be more 'look we got some sh*t to sort out!' not really a 'Surprise! We've been happily together for months and now I'm here to surprise you on your Dublin vacation!!'

Madness!

BH

ETA: Sorry for adding to the 'Surprise!' discussion It was a very annoying moment.

It's fine. I just don't get why Ste couldn't of walked in like 'You and me need to talk and I'm not leaving until this is sorted' or anything other than that. It was awful.

He doesn't feel like the same person to me either.

Especially as the last time he saw Brendan, he got a smack in the face for his trouble. I know he's been listening to Cheryl and Doug tell him that Brendan does actually care more than he realised, but still. A bit of tentativeness would have been FAR more realistic than "SURPRISE LOL"

It was mental.

'Ere, Brendun, coo eee!'

They get it so wrong sometimes, I have faith that tomorrow they will get it so right.

It looked like it was recorded way before they had the idea for Brendan to punch Ste and 'save' him and that's exactly what I think it was. A lapse in continuity. Didn't make much sense at all!

Random thought if that had of been Ste in the toliet do we think what Cheryl said would have made him go after Brendan?

Brendan will have to really put himself out there emotionally now, it's going to be epic. Cannot wait! Ste is gonna sass big style on JP and then strop off! I want Brendan to panic big time and BEG!

Oh I have so much faith they will get the Dublin stuff right, I really do. I think I semi-suspected there would be some 'Hmmmm' moments in tonight's episode because I suspected the whole 'punch' issue wouldn't be brought up, but I really think they've got the Dublin stuff right.

Having faith in Hollyoaks is scary!

It would have put some serious thoughts in his head but I honestly don't think Ste would have ever gone after Brendan without getting the "blessing" from Doug so to speak at the airport. He was too conflicted after his last moment with Brendan and too aware of how he thinks keeping with Doug is "doing the right thing". IMO.

Ste's a pretty lucky guy when you think about it. Two guys willing to destroy themselves for his happiness. *sniffle*

Same! I think at that point Ste felt way too "indebted" to Doug. Without Doug's blessing I really think Ste would have went and risked being miserable, just because he didn't want to disappoint Doug because he felt he owed Doug in some way. I think he felt like he owed Doug because he felt guilty for not loving him as much as he loved Brendan, and everything he'd kind of put him through with his conflicted feelings. I think Ste would have seen it as too big a betrayal to Doug to claim his love for him all this time, only to let him down at the very very last moment.

So now we're left with the unanswered (yet partially answered) question...

When will Brendan be back in a suit?

Yep, that's what I think as well. I think by that point Ste was well aware of how he needed to do right by Doug now (whatever we might think of him).
