I think he'll say something that makes Brendan realise he has to go after Ste instead of being all 'He's better off without me'.

Yeah I don't have an issue with the JP/Brendan stuff, Brendan seeks out sex as a comfort, it's nothing new, It was more of an eye rolling moment more than anything, I mean we didn't even have to see any of it, no kissing nothing.

Not sure if we'll see the Jacqui call at this point, but I think you're right about JP's involvement. I think it looks as if Ste and Brendan are going to have that hotel corridor conversation with Brendo in his vest, and Ste goes, and Brendan's given up. The there's some sort of convo with JP ('Don't make the same mistake I did' kind of thing, or JP says something and Brendan sees a parallel) and Brendan gets his act together and tracks Ste down for arguments and snogging.

Brendan hasn't really done anything wrong but I think Ste will be hurt and upset because he has gone to find Brendan believing that Brendan loves him and seeing another man in his bed will make him think that he doesn't love him that much.

Yeah, I think when it comes to feelings judging 'fair' and 'unfair' or what 'right' someone has to feel a certain way in an unclear argument. Ste technically has no right to be angry that Brendan has slept with someone if he's single and lonely...

but on the other hand you could definitely argue he does have a right to be angry, because he's putting in all the effort for them to be together so far. He wasn't with Brendan for all those months because he believed he hadn't changed, which was definitely fair enough. Then when Brendan began to change, Ste waited until he was sure that this change was real and he wanted to give things a go. When confronted with the thought of losing Brendan by going to America, Ste sought him out and basically urged Brendan to admit to his feelings for him and kissed him. Ste gave Brendan the opportunity to make things work, when he had every reason not to bother, and then Brendan punched him!

Now Ste comes to Dublin, thinking he's going into the arms of someone who -underneath it all- really wants him and loves him and wouldn't hurt him. He's flying on a wing and a prayer! Then he shows up to see another man in his bed?!

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd be angry

I think Ste needs to go nuclear, as was said previously. I'll be watching with baited breath as Ste blasts a few home truths and Brendan comes crawling to him this time. No more feeling sorry for himself. Go get yo man, Brendan!

Just got round to watching todays episode.. Was amazing!!! Although we know what's to come I still couldn't help and feel bad for ste, seeing jp of all people in brendans bed!! but on a positive note cannot wait to see tommorows episode ok time for bed now.. Goodnyt xx

Yep I agree with all of that and I want Ste to give it to him with both barrels as Brendan has to for probably the first time really fight for Ste.

I totally can understand Ste being angry as he will be thinking that Brendan hasn't exactly been thinking about him much if he can sleep with someone so quickly after Ste making it clear that he wanted him back.

Don't know how I'll be able to sleep with the excitement

You see, my mind has kind of fooled me into believing that Brendan has fought for Ste before...but he hasn't really. He's never really fought to be with Ste, whilst Ste kind of has fought to be with Brendan a few times actually. I think it's time for Brendan to really put his heart on the line here and I think he will actually. I can't wait

ETA: I also really want Ste to call Brendan out on the fact he slept with someone so soon after Ste was supposed to be out of his life forever! Even just a 'I weren't outa yer life for two seconds before yer got some other guy into bed!' and for Brendan to even say something along the lines of 'he reminded me of you' or 'I was lonely' or just something honest.

Yep even on ILY day when it came down to it he didn't fight for him when he could have and should have.

Yeah, but Brendan's the one that's been keeping them apart though, so it makes sense for Ste to feel like that, like Brendan's fine to get on with his life.
First Brendan blamed the fact Ste married Doug, and then he punched Ste because of a pact he made to God when Ste was the one willing to go to him, and now Ste's the willing one to put himself out there again even though it's Brendan's fight, and gets hurt again. But I'm not expecting them to acknowledge it how it's happened, we'll get dodgy writing tomorrow that ignores/gets around/relieves Brendan somewhat of a lot. They'll even point out how Ste's managed to contribute somehow to their situation.

Even going by the trailer, the question Ste asks 'So what's stopping you?' at the pier, is something that should have been answered the night before, before they could reunite.
I'm thinking the bridge isn't the reunion really, Brendan will have just kissed him, but not much could have been resolved. And indeed, I think it was note that found out the smiley bridge walk-off was Kimmett and not the story.
So the reunion must be after the pier talk when they're acting playful. Then they go have a drink, hold hands, and shag in the abandoned bar. I'm not betting on a morning after bed scene anymore, which is more comfortable frankly, seeing as Brendan had just slept with someone else.

I was just coming on to ask what JP's more 'prominent' role in tomorrow's episode might be. You'd think Brendan would chase right after Ste, but I'm guessing he must lose him and be despondent for a bit until JP tells him to go for it. Don't want to spend too long on them two when there's a lot of Stendan to get to.

I mostly enjoyed tonight's ep. Liked the Stug breakup (unlike most of you I haven't seen the Stug storyline in its entirety yet so I haven't drowned in PJ's tears before), and thought both actors did a good job.

Cringed at JP's arrival despite/because of being a McDeaner. Thought the sunset poster on the bus was a bit needless. Not sure I believed him being all sarcastic after breaking up with Craig but break-up aside I would've enjoyed that conversation with Brendan. Just have no idea how they would get from there to sleeping together!

There needs to be a 'Hang on, that's John Paul,' 'Ste?!' scene tomorrow or I'll be writing a strongly worded letter to the producers!

That's what I think it'll be. Brendan will be despondent or even continue his mistaken belief that pushing Ste away is 'right' for Ste. But John Paul will make him realise that it's worth taking a chance on love no matter how it ends.

OT but I never thought I could get upset about somebody I didn't even know
