is it just me or has Home and away lost abit of its heart when it removed the opening credits/theme song

i used to love turning it on and seeing the whos been added or removed and the song

silly mistake axing it for the sake of 30 extra seconds

anyone agree?

The tune is the thing people associate with most when you mention Home and Away. Remove the tune and you have a programme set in the same place with about 3 recognisable characters that just happens to be referred to as "Home and Away". Yes, I believe that axing the opening titles was equivalent to axing the biggest part of its identity.

Its not like the missing 30 seconds give us any more exciting footage, a lot of the boring love triangle stuff could do with having 30 seconds cut from it lol, the wandering around the beach to the sad music

exactly, although lucy addario seems to think we would rather an extra minute of drama cause the amount we got in the first 20 years wasent enough

it was iconic to the show, like Dr who and Dallas - you cant have them without the intro

The same petition happened in 2007 didn't it, when they brought in the rainbow photo collage opening credits for 2008? Unfortunately, that lasted a year before it got axed again. I don't think they'll ever learn. Personally I haven't watched often since Sally left - every time I had an occasional view I found the young cast very unlikeable, they seemed to lack personality and character whilst the older cast just seemed to do the same thing all the time. Irene, Colleen and Leah rushing round in the diner kitchen, Alf in his shop, blah blah. I can't exactly comment on the current state of the show obviously but from what I heard it's in big need of a shake-up!

I couldn't stand the theme song to be honest, so I was happy it was cut . It's a very painful song on my ears .

I used to love the home and away theme and I still remember the words. I think that it was a mistake to remove it.
