For me Christmas dinner is really just a jazzed up version of a sunday roast.
I usually go to my parents' and we have exactly the same as any sunday, only with the addition of pig-in-blanket and cranberry sauce, and the mandatory bowl of sprouts that mostly go untouched!
Mum used to get a bit stressy about doing the Christmas dinner, until I said "Just treat it like a sunday roast, and I'll do the extras"... which just meant preparing the sprouts and spending 10 mins wrapping bacon around bits of sausage.
