She's a big signing and I'm sure will pull in plenty of viewers should she make the final - whereas Dani is seen as more expendable.

I think when people say "out there" they mean non-online/non-passionate fans - the ones who watch at the weekend and then forget about the show until the following weekend. It's just a bit of light relief for them. But even so, I sense Lisa's fanbase is slowly dwindling. Even if she makes the final, I don't think she'll finish higher than 3rd.”

I know what out there meant hun , it just shocks me that she could be popular anywhere.

These comments are clearly ludicrous and unprofessional.

I'm not sure he'll win out though. I don't think public opinion of Lisa is as high as made out. I think Denise and Kimberley have ended up in the dance-off once apiece because it's perhaps been taken for granted that they were getting to the final so their fanbase got slack for a week.

When Lisa was up against the likes of Victoria, Michael and Nicky, I could see how she got through because they were all, to some degree, equal in strengths and weaknesses. Victoria is beautiful and popular but her well documented confidence issues left her looking like a rabbit in the headlights which eventually caused her luck to run out. Michael was too inconsistent (excellent ballroom, poor Latin) and Nicky had no wow factor. So I can see how Lisa made it through.

But now, I think the public and Craig are realizing that Denise, Dani, Kimberley and Louis are so far ahead of Lisa in terms of talent. The key is that whenever Lisa's defence is jumped to, the word used is "fun" which suggests that the viewing public are being treated like idiots who are going to vote for silly faces which could well blow up in Craig's face.

I mean, although I'm an overly skinny 27 year old guy, I could slap an outfit on and pull a face like Scooby Doo with a rocket up the rear end and march on the spot followed by being dragged across the floor with a look of mild constipation on my face. Preferably by Ola Jordan. In Ghostbusters outfit. But I digress.

I think Craig finds Dani expendable because she's less of a household name than the other three as she was a child actress on a kid's show years ago which is relatively obscure now. Whereas everyone knows who Denise van Outen is, Louis is riding off the wave of the Olympic success and Kimberley was in a commercially mega-successful pop group.

But if he thinks Lisa has more fans than Dani, I think and hope that he will be unpleasently surprised.

I think if Lisa ends up in the dance-off - and I larged suspect she will - she's screwed. If Craig votes for her to stay in, I don't think he'll get the support of the others particuarly if she's up against Dani. Darcey, who is the best judge, was the only one who actually called Lisa out on all of the mistakes she made (and Lisa did graciously admit she went wrong) and I think would vote for Dani, Len loves Dani and has admitted that he votes with his heart and not his head for Lisa and Bruno, to his credit, is very impartial despite being in danger of turning into a parody of himself.

Craig needs to keep his business dealings off the dance floor and this practice should be knocked on the head in future series' but I can't see his little stunt working. Thankfully.

Sorry to disagree with you on the BIB but Tracy Beaker is still shown on CBBC regularly so I wouldn't call it obscure. (Although it will be obscure to anyone who never watches CBBC). Dani followed it with Dani's House which again is often shown on CBBC. Amongst my relatives, all the children who watch Strictly are voting for Dani, as they know her from CBBC. Hopefully she will have a lot of young fans plus will have gained fans who didn't know her before.

I agree with everything you said about Craig. I think he's expecting Lisa to not be in the bottom two. As you say, he may have underestimated Dani's popularity. His scores for Dani and Lisa are going to be very interesting tomorrow.

TV’s Mr Nasty was convinced the West End star would walk away with the gitterball trophy at the beginning of the competition – but now thinks the race is wide open.

Probed on whether he was standing by his decision to back Denise, he told Metro: ‘I don’t know. It’s really down to the audience now. It’s a popularity contest in the end.

‘The public are now making informed choices. We’re 10 series into Strictly now, people now know a lot about dancing. They know what to look for, technically as well.’

The esteemed choreographer went on to predict that Dani Harmer is for the chop this weekend, adding that ‘Lisa, Louis, Denise and probably Kimberley’ will make it through to the final.

But whoever walks away as this year’s champ, Craig is happy to admit he has enjoyed watching Lisa and Denise the most.

He raved: ‘Lisa is always happy and smiley and she’s a great dancer too and Denise is incredible. She’s just as good at ballroom as she is Latin – and that’s quite rare.

‘Even professional dancers find they’re better at one than the other.’”

I agree with this. To people my age (14-18) and under, Tracy Beaker was pretty much the hero of a lot of our childhoods. Anyone I talk to in school about Strictly say Dani is their favourite. I think she'll be getting a lot of votes from families, as she has been a major face of Children's TV over the last decade.

As for the article, I'm losing respect for Craig week by week. I really do hate his constant championing of Lisa despite the fact she is rather dreadful. Hopefully he'll be proved wrong this week

I think you will love Lisa if she gets into the Final.

What I'd think if Lisa got to the final is that it's a travesty one of the other four went out for her.

I guess that Tracey Beaker is well known among the younger generation, I guess I'm talking from my experience as it was something that somewhat passed me by! But regardless, I'm hoping Dani not only gets to the final but wins as she is my fave.

I agree. It would be lovely if Dani and Vincent won although I wouldn't mind if any of the 4 good dancers won.

I think Dani has more fans than people think. She also has never been in the bottom two although is usually in the middle of the leaderboard. As it's the semi final there should be more people voting so hopefully she'll get enough votes to stay out of the bottom two.

I'm really annoyed at Craig assuming Lisa won't be in the bottom two. I'm looking forward to seeing his face when he has to decide whether to vote her off or not.

Thing is Denise has shown she is brilliant for Ballroom, but apart from the Jive her other Latin dances have been a little off. Kimbely & Dani have shown themselves to be better all rounders improving each week, with Louis usually putting in a polished routine in either style.

So in that respect Craig is not right about Denise being just as good in both styles.

All Craig has to do is ignore obvious faults like he does with Lisa every week, and lay into some other dancer to lower their score by a couple like he did with Nicky, and he will have created a four point fudge in the leaderboard. When they're all bunched in the low thirties it could easily make the difference so that Lisa doesn't need to even dance off.

Whats a "four point fudge" I have never heard of this before?

If he really wanted Lisa to win surely he would try to get louis in the dance off,he must know the rumors that he is ahead in the voting and he consistently marks him down so it would not be a shock if he gave him a bad score. If the rumors about him not being a judge next year are true,i doubt he would care what people think of his judging.I don't think he wants her to win just get to the final which would be good for his show.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if he wanted a Louis and Dani dance off. As you say, he has always marked Louis down and manages to find something to fault. Louis and Flavia's AS to the Gotye song is going to be a bit different than a conventional AS (although it could be amazing) and Len may not like it so I'm sure Craig will also be able to find fault as well. He's already decided Dani is going out so whatever she does he will mark her down.

It may be more difficult to mark down Denise or Kimberley if their dances are perfect.

Whatever happens it's going to be a very interesting semi, with the worst dancer possibly getting to the final.

I think this week is going to be tough for Dani,i really like her and Vincent as a couple and her dancing is good enough to earn her place in the final, but she may suffer the Austin Healy effect, the wrong dance at the wrong time,Vincent is an excellent teacher especially with the AT but her body shape makes it look somehow wrong for her, i know she can't help it but i would have saved faster dances that would suit her more,i still hope she gets through though.

just said on another thread: if this is a popularity not a dance contest, why does it matter how many hours of training Denise puts in? I don't get it.

Just because Craig says it's a popularity contest doesn't mean it's true. I would have thought that to most people who watch the dancing is very important and they want to see people who improve and produce beautiful dancing and who are prepared to put the work in. If that wasn't the case we would still have people like Michael in, who was very popular but not a good dancer.

Of course Craig will say that, he wants it to be a popularity contest so that Lisa, the star of the show he's putting on next year, will win. He would want people to think the dancing doesn't matter as long as the contestant has an extrovert personality, in that way Lisa gets more votes. If he's leaving he won't care any more about the integrity of the show or the judges.

I would always trust what Craig say's maggie, he seems like an OK kind of guy.

Who rattled your cage ? This thread is just a discussion on comments made by Craig, nobody is falling apart or getting hysterical so we don't need to be told to "get a grip" thanks.

If you don't like it, don't read it.
