Bollywood dance”

Except the "Bollywood" is more "Aladdin Goes to Hollywood" than real Bollywood.

Christian Millette is a lot "camper" than anything ever seen on SCD http://youtu.be/niKG858u5Fw

I am sure many like it but not to my taste.

I like the split screen with action replays.

Here are the same couple in the Rumba. Lots of faffing around and little dancing. I love the big band

The Argentine version looks quite different. Those of a very liberal disposition can search on youtube for

Danse avec les stars had a week where each of the remaining couples were given a disadvantage to work with in their dance. We ended up with a blindfolded Tango, a hands-tied-behind-back Viennese Waltz and an instant choreography Jive.

I would suggest working a disadvantage week into our series, but the I realised that happens every week when the music comes through.

(Seriously, though, I love the idea of a dance duel where the couple dance the same dance to the same song at the same time, and the public decide in a phone vote which of the Bottom 2 should leave)

Danse avec les stars just seems so much more 'grown up' and nuanced compared to Strictly! Love it!

They also got Kristen Scott-Thomas to do a showdance!

Which channel is 'Danse avec les stars' shown? I watched a bit of the first series from the French tv website but then I think they might have cottoned on that people outside of France were viewing it because when I tried to watch it again I wasn't allowed to I've seen bits and pieces on youtube but not enough to form an overall impression - from the bits I've seen though I'd say parts of the show work and some parts don't.

Some of the clips on this thread are funny though, I see they've got their own Bruno type judge and Chris the salsa dancer really comes as larger than life too

Yes. but the dancers are trying to appeal to the US voters, so choosing a song from a main stream film was smart!

To be fair- this was an allstars season. They had to change it up a bit because, after about week 4 when all the novelty acts had gone, they were all really good dancers, so they've already been seen to do Waltzes, Pasos, Jives etc that were worth 30/30 so they had to be challenged somehow! I doubt they'll do that again in regular series. Stuff like Fusion and instant dances, although novelty themes to keep the viewers interested, are still based wholly on ballroom and latin dance!

What was the film? There were three languages in the song - Hindi, English and Spanish.

I agree with the OP SCD would work much better with the 2 scores but I don't know whether it would make much difference to Lisa staying in as she seems very popular and that's what gets the public votes same as Christopher Parker on the first series. I am hoping for a Louis, Dani, Kimberly and Denise Final though as it could be one of the closest run for a long time.
